Mouthing off, not a crime, but if the cop already has pulled you over for a traffic violation, then you've got to be one royally stupid SOB to mouth off at them at that point in time. You're basically under arrest at that point, the cop can decide to simply let you go without a citation or to let you out on bail(the citation that you sign promising to appear in court), in either case, you don't have any leverage at that moment.
You have absolutely nothing to gain by mouthing off at a cop after you've been stopped for committing a violation of the law. The best thing you can do is say as little as possible, take the L and if you feel it was unjustified, then you go to Court and argue your case there as the law demands.
There are a lot of lenient and sympathetic judges out there, if you can make a case that you've been wronged somehow, that is where you want to fight it out.
He asked her a question and she honestly answered it.
This is pure conjecture on my part but I'm betting the coroner never thought this would make the national news and only did a quick autopsy to get her in and out of the morgue. He wasn't interesting in doing a thorough autopsy. Now that a complete one was done he knows his is lacking and is going to get called on it.
OR..the autopsy was not performed by a forensic pathologist, you'd be surprised at how often that happens.
conservatives are consistently the biggest supporters of police officers killing fellow Americans. They are the least bothered by it. They are least likely to support protesting and questioning of police tactics. In fact, cinservatives say such inquiries are hatred of the police.
conservatives insist that police officers in the field can basically require Americans to do anything and any questioning of the police by that citizen is disrespectful and belligerent and opens that citizen up to being hurt and killed by the police for minor crimes or minor traffic stops or no crime at all.
This is the position of the vast majority of conservatives. Who for the most part support the government using the ultimate power to take an American's life and are angry at those Americans who would dare question or be skeptical of that use of government power.
Sadly this is the conservative reaction and it is yet another example that disproves the lie that conservatives fear government or want a smaller government.
Those who truly feared government power would be the most skeptical of police killing people but conservatives are by far the most supportive.
not sure why you keep howling about police killing people when there's not a shred of evidence that happened here
He reached inside her car which is not something he should have done.
And it's his job to diffuse the situation, not make it worse.
Yes, write her the warning or citation and walk away. Does he try and agitate everyone he pulls over?
I don't agree that he handled himself professionally. However, when she refused to comply, after multiple requests, all the while welcoming the altercation, the fault of escalation lies with her.
Vast generalizations are even weaker arguments than falsehoods.
The generalization is factual and therefore incredibly strong.
Remember when President Obama and the Mayor of New York both basically said hey the manner in which Eric Garner was killed by police was cause to look at certain police tactics and how the police deals with certain groups of Americans all the while throughout their speeches they praised police officers?
And conservatives said that this extremely mild criticism of the police at the completely unnecessary death of an American at the hands of the police was ginning up hatred of the police and out of bounds of what those two should be saying about the police.
This was the conservative position on the death of Eric Garner. I really wish it weren't, but that just happened.
In conservative-land protesting the death of Eric Garner at the hands of police is wrong. Protesting the death of anyone at the hands of the police is wrong and proves hatred of the police and support of criminals/thugs.
This is the conservative position and that opposition is partly what makes reforming police departments so difficult.
He asked her a question and she honestly answered it.
A traffic stop is not the time or the place to express your sentiment on the correctness of what the police officer is saying you are guilty of, nor to express your own personal ideology. You keep your answers short, your tone neutral and if you think you were wronged, you go about fighting it the right way....in court.
All this proves is that common sense really isn't all that common.

She wanted to create controversy and take her 5 minutes of worthless fame.
Comment above overstating.
She asked the officer what she did; we've all been pulled over for a traffic violation or two and personally, never once was I asked to get out the car. Still not enough information available; did the officer suspect intoxication? Although, she appears to over-react there is video available, where the exchange of words captioned.
In report this officer never mentions use of his taser gun......
