What I see is right wingers like yourself objecting to any effort at all at searching for renewable fuels. That's just dumb.

And yes, I drive an suv for all purposes. I don't pay for the gas at all, so immediately I don't care as much. But common sense tells me it's a good thing that we as a society should put at least a minimal effort into researching for renewable source of energy. What is so evil about that?
You're a hypocrite. You contribute directly to the problem of over consumption of fossil fuels and yet want to lecture others about oil conservation.

Smart, viable renewables that yield good result is the best path.
The first trains broke down all the time. There was a famous race between a train and a horse drawn carriage where the train broke down and everyone said the train was just a useless gimmick.

Every invention in the past started out not being so practical. The first cars were considered little more than rich man's toy. The first computers were considered useless scientific gimmicks.

Renewable alternative fuels are going through such phase right now. And conservatives are always too ready to point out how efforts are such failure and we should always stick with oil. Again, ask yourself this question: do you honestly think the earth has an unlimited amount of oil lying around?

(1) What's wrong with being a hypocrite? As a matter of fact, you just committed a logical fallacy called tu quoque.

(2) When did I lecture on oil conservation?

(3) My suv is a company car. They bought it brand new for me. Also gave me a company credit card for gas. And I don't have a car of my own. What do you expect me to do?

Gas prices are already far cheaper today because by not curtailing production the Saudis can make it more difficult for producers in the central U.S. and Canada to so much as break even on domestic extraction. The Saudis think they can afford to wait, and they may be right.

It's already given market-invested retirement account holders some headaches because U.S. businesses rely on a strong domestic energy sector to buy products and labor that it can now no longer afford.

If domestic small oil producers go belly up because profits are impossible to come by, that's when oil price shock will return to hit shallow-thinking leftists in the pocketbook.

(Never mind that Kerry didn't purchase anything. As the Democratic People's Republic of Korea was gifted in the same way before it, Iran is going to continue doing exactly as it was doing already. But it's your money.)

You mean like the left wing States of Alaska and Mississippi...where they refuse to take government money?

They don't slouch like the public-assistance dependent in NYC and Chicago. Their dignity and relative liberty are intact.

Hmm. Well I don't think they ever have, but more of their oil on the market now is likely to drop the value of the dollar by some amount, even as it drops the overall price of oil.

You have no clue how economies work do you? 2.00 gas is not good at all..

I can care less what color he is. Bottom line is if you want stable oil prices, good jobs and the long term economic benefits you need to support US producers and this President has not done this. In this case it's just inadvertent but in the grand scheme of things this is bad deal overall and attempting to justify it with lower oil prices that will ultimately cause long term costs is absurd.
