Just imagine for a second if there was some kind of an environmental or natural or man made disaster in Europe and the Europeans were moving to Africa. Imagine the media and the negative slant they would be putting on how old whitey is pushing the Africans off their land and ruining their culture. This is beyond disgusting the unfairness of it all.

I believe this concern about having your country and culture eroded through mass immigration, legal and illegal, resonates with average westerners in Europe and in the US. You can see it in comments, on certain blogs, but also on the massive street demonstrations that arose earlier this year in Europe. Heck, it's why Trump has as much support right now as he does.
Of course, all of that is suppressed as much as possible and explained away as a racist, xenophobic fringe.
