You got that right! Mentally ill people are much more likely to kill than sane people. Mentally ill are given pills never proven but theorized on basis mental illness is caused by chemical imbalance. Now these pills have warning they may cause suicides & others say homicides, too.

The new theory is many mental illnesses are caused by indiagnosed physical problems. Certainly the case for me, likely MS, & law enforcement wants me & 100K+ to suffer needlessly & die.

Pills kill 265,000+ a year, alcohol 88,000 a year, tobacco 200,000-300,000+, food 500,000+, & 0 for cannabis. Why do you seemingly favor unnecessary deaths?
Are you under the impression that if you choose one, the other goes away? No, booze is a problem, and not we have added another.

Thanks jwiley! This study was based on only those who would allow the interviewers into their homes. Many who use cannabis would not let them in. So, cannabis users are only 10% when 17% in other studies say they use it. This makes it look more like cannabis users are rare freaks & that the drug war is working. This study is weird , as it says new users rather than longtime "addicts" are the majority of the problem users. Best wishes.

It is talked about in the 20,000 pages I've read. Cannabis is not like tobacco in effects. It is an expectorant, so it can clear out the lungs with a cough, while smoking it. If a bit more crud comes out later, it rises up without a cough. The poison nicotine, in tobacco but not cannabis, causes the lung cleaners (cilia) to be non-working for most, while smoking. Tobacco users cough the most in the morning. This does not happen when smoking cannabis.

A man in the govt compassionate use program from the '70s still gets 300 joints a month from govt. His lung function recently tested at 103% of normal. Best wishes.

So true, maybe 10% & that will drop even lower if cannabis is legalized. I'm in favor of people having whatever helps them the most. I drink too much, but would drink less if cannabis were legalized.

Many have smoked it daily for 40-50 years & have no major health complaints. A woman in India used it daily & was at least 120 when she died.

You are right it doesn't have to be smoked, if people can afford the $2,500-$3,000/oz for cannabis oil, which our pill makers had in pharmacies from about 1850 until as late as 1937. Cannabis oil takes many plants to make a little, but can cure many "non-curable" illnesses that smoked cannabis can't. Anyone who doesn't believe this, just look up Rick Simpson.

"marijuana" is foreign slang popularized by people that were proud to be openly racist. The real name is cannabis, as sold in pharmacies by our current pill makers from 1850 until as late as 1937.

Cannabis treats depression, anxiety, controls anger. So it can reduce homicides & suicides. Is that bad? 96% in recent internet forums say cannabis should legal for adults & kids with conditions. So, are 96% on internet forums mentally ill, or have they learned more than others?

Federal researchers were told please pill companies to get paid or they would be rejected. Gerald Ford gave pill companies the right to decide which researchers would get paid. Pretty honest? They claimed cannabis caused everything that it treated. They didn't know which came first, or pretended not to know. But common sense & logic suggests the problems came before the treatment.

What happens when one uses cannabis is their drinking is at least reduced, if they don't quit. Also, many quit tobacco when they start cannabis, so many lives are saved.

While this is true, reducing sentences for harmless people from 20 years to 10 years is just slightly less wrong.

Thank you pot-lobby.

One in three users are showing signs of dependence or abuse

And then they celebrate by saying ""The prevalence of marijuana use disorder among marijuana users decreased significantly from 2001-2013," from 35.6 percent of users to 30.6."

Lets get this straight: 10 years ago you had 1000 users, 350 of then had marijuana related disorders, and today you have 2000 users and 600 people with disorders, and that's somehow a good thing? Number of people with disorders nearly doubled.

U.S. Study: Marijuana use doubled in last 10 years - CNN.com

Marijuana study: Number of Americans toking up doubles in 10 years

A heck of a lot more Americans were toking up in 2012-13 than 10 years before -- and not for medical reasons, either -- according to a new study.
The percentage of American adults who had used marijuana within the last year was 9.5%, the study found. That compared to 4.1% in 2001-02.

With the increase in use has come an increase in the total number of what the study called "marijuana use disorders."
Pure BS, I would think you know better Finn, oh well.
