Chinatown a slur? I'm guessing the "Chinese" people living there never got the memo that it's NOT PC to use that "slur'. LOL!
Chicago has a Chinatown, too, and the residents promote it themselves as a way to attract tourism. They are making money on the designation. Does the OP want to take away their livelihood?

Has the OP never actually visited one of these places?
They're hardly "ghetto-ized" or marginalized. It's not as if you walk into Chinatown and it's filled with Chinese people who don't speak English and live in total isolation from the rest of the city.
Heck, I live in Chinatown and I and most of my neighbors are white.
As for the Jade district, I'm not seeing the self loathing. What I do see is a collection of businesses that cater to similar audiences (though Fubonn is mostly filled with white people) getting together to increase visibility and drive up revenue.
They sound self-loathing, urbanlife78, and you're down with their racial ghetto-ization. If a leftist reacted to rhetorical and logical challenge by burying his or her head in the sand, it wouldn't be a first.
My city has several areas where only Black people live and I've been petitioning for years to get the city to put up signs saying, "Welcome to Blackistan," but so far they've been opposed. I hope that one day my city will be as enlightened as San Francisco.

I'm assuming you are parodying the OP. Although, we probably shouldn't make fun of him. It seems kinda cruel to do to some people... If not, read a history book.
Okay, I am at a total loss on this thread......all I know about Chinatown in SF, is the meat is sold in wide open space with everyone breathing on it and did I mention the flies......
Now if you want to discuss Haight Ashbury or how once this was a beautiful city, but Pelosi has ruined it....you are on to something!
