Your posts on this thread shows the bigotry of the GOP.
I didn't say they had "policies" which encouraged bigotry, I said lay members are bigots (like many of the posters in this thread).
Big difference.
I didn't mention anything about economic times. I am black and haven't been hurting and am not hurting from "economic times" of today. I am much better financially than I was in 2007 FWIW.
But I don't think the president has anything to do with that.
this and the other posters.
OP, you will REALLY have to go on the offensive to silence these sorts of people and show them to be the nuts they are.
The GOP should be less argumentative against potential party supporters (as stated, I am an independent, don't even know why this poster mentioned "dems"). It leaves a sour taste in regards to the entire party, especially when these people speak or post over and over and over and over with their idiotic ramblings.
I remember reading about McCarthy-ism and watching a documentary about it when I was in high school. How this one guy got everyone in Congress to go crazy about "communist" and "communist sympathizers" in our country.
McCarthy's inquisition ended based on Joseph Welch, a softspoken attorney finally speaking up and putting McCarthy in his place (McCarthy Meets His Match)
I personally feel, many of these people, like McCarthy, have no sense of decency. They respect no one unless people have equal ignorance to their own. They seek to bully people into submission and try to argue and accuse people with irrational opinions they seek to portray as "facts."
Again, an intense social media movement will need to be started within the GOP's lay members especially.
Who bullied and mindwashed millions to believe none have rights to their private thoughts but instead must adhere to being Politically Correct? Loony tune liberals are much worse than McCarthy ever could be. He was against those who push PC...the left; those who bring fascism, socialism, communism and totalitarianism.
You like to tap dance around and point fingers at the wrong people. The last sentence in bold describes any panel on a Bill Maher show.
Why do you need a link? It's true. State after state (even California) has rejected "gay 'marriage'" only to have the court overturn their decision. Do your own research.
Funny how, when the ruling goes your way, it's upholding the constitution, but when it doesn't, it's shoving things.
Where do you find any reference in the Constitution to "marriage?" It's not a matter of upholding the Constitution. Marriage is an institution created by God. It doesn't matter if you believe in God or not. That's your problem, not mine. You don't have the right to change the definition of marriage, and neither does the US government. Neither do you have the right to force me to accept something which my religion tells me is an abomination.
Abraham Lincoln argued against slavery citing the Biblical concept (articulated by none other than John Calvin) that "all men are created equal." Shall we now reject that, because it came from the Bible, which you obviously are in disagreement with? It defines marriage as between a man and a woman. If that must be rejected, why not also "all men are created equal?"
When put to a vote of the people, state after state has rejected legalizing so-called "gay 'marriage.'" It has been forced on us by the courts, who somehow have found that there is a right to same sex marriage.
To "marry" someone of the same sex is a perversion of what God has created.
I can't tell you how tired I am of seeing some backwoods knuckle dragger stand up at a candidate's poltical rally or meeting and say something to the effect of ...."what we gun do bout that ther muslim in the white house, that black muslim?....
And the worst part of it is that we Republicans seem to embrace a philosophy of passive tolerance to these idots.... and why? Because they vote Republican? We don't need these uneducated hicks votes!
This plays right in to the Democrats hands every time something like this happens and candidates don't call it out for what it is! McCain is the only one who did the right thing and stood his ground and put the idiot in his audience back in her place. He didn't want to get her vote by being complicit in her ignorance. Every time one of these hillbillies says something like this and it goes unchallenged, it just lends credibility to the Dems false portrayal of all Republicans being beer guzzling rednecks with an 8th grade education.
First Donald Trump failed us in this regard, and now Carly Fiorina. THIS MUST STOP!!! This is not what the Conservative movement is about... If you're one of these people who believe that Obama is "an arab" or a "muslim", and that combined with his "blackness" somehow disqualifies him from being president in "your white, Christian nation"... than go crawl back under your rock and stay there!!!! There is NO place for you in the Conservative movement you anti-freedom, slanderous hypocrite!
Excellent post and I agree (Rare). Part of the reason I am so anti-Conservative, aside from the atrocious record across the board of the GOP, is that the Conservative party is one that embraces the most racist, ignorant, and bigoted people in this country. If you want to have a chance of joining us in the 21st century, you must rid your party of these relics who stand for the old Confederacy, the Klan, and the Dixie culture.
If you don't want to be known as the party of racists, bigots, and Klan, don't allow them into your party, stand for policies which make them happy, and tolerate their behavior. Failure to do so, continues to make Conservatives THE problem.

It's funny how those who have aversion to religious freedom insist on church weddings and funerals. Why do those who disdain religion attend these services with a straight face?
