Philip Morris deals with tobacco every day and are, undoubtedly experts on tobacco. Would you trust them trust them if they published a study on health effects of smoking? because I wouldn't. Much less one that has "we multiplied by five because estimates" in the text.

I don't see CA turning into the next Detroit. CA will be the playground of the rich.
What better way to drive out the riff raff then to raise taxes ?

You could say that about every liberal city.

You are comparing an addictive habit with an expensive business relocation. Companies aren't looking to move because they necessarily want to.

Your analogy makes no sense.

I am comparing a company publishing a study suited to improve its sales figures with a company publishing a study suited to improve its sales figures.

The big guys usually stay as they have money to explore options.

Apple, for example, created a lab in Austin and is expanding it for their mobile work so that shelters them from some CA taxes.

The multinationals there just don't bring back their profits.

CA will just end up with big multinationals, chains and boutiques that cater to the rich.

Yes, large multi-nationals like to put facilities in lots of places. However, have you seen the new Apple HQ? Apple is not leaving CA anytime soon.

The weather and geography will keep attracting people and business to California.

Business owners will pay a premium to be there because it's a great place to live if you're rich. Workers will pay the high COL for the weather and the jobs.

If the water weren't so dang cold and I was loaded, I would consider moving there. The California beach lifestyle is extremely appealing to me, but I can't afford it.

Neither can many living there... In many instances, a couple different families reside in one residence.. This isn't uncommon in Ca.
