That's because Republicans are trying to paint all Muslims in the wide brush that they are savage terrorists who want to bring ISIS/ISLS to America and make us submit to Islam (meanwhile many of them fearing tis are Christians.)

Considering he is the least popular CIC in history and is the least popular president in history that is most likely true. The Military from every poll and especially the leadership has almost no confidence in the current CIC.
I think Obama and most liberals would be more than happy to let Texas go if Texans decided to seceed. I think what would happen, the United States would get all the military bases out of Texas. More than a few of the companies who moved their headquarters here would leave. The United States would build a huge wall at the Texas border, and Mexico would invadeTexas and reclaim it as it's own and change the name back to Tejas.
Before long, Texas would be begging the United States to take us back, but they would say, "nope, sorry Texas. You're on your own. Pull yourselves up your boot straps, and by the way, how's that conservative politics working out for ya now, down there in Mexico?"
It may not go down exactly like that, but it's not that far fetched, either.
You forgot that Tx would immediately ask for aid from the USA and protection from Mexico annexing them.

If Texas were to secede, many of us would be asking for citizenship. I have more faith in Texas than the morons in Washington.
You mean once Texas became its own nation, you could count on Texas to ban homosexuality and abortion along with banning the teaching of evolution in schools, ban Muslims and the lifting of all gun restrictions?
