That button will never get pushed.

Why?

Because Muslims seem to stand up to bullies in a very brutal way.... Pretty sure the double standard we see here, is based upon history of a religion of passive tolerance, to one that has aggressive hate...........

Who you going to fear the most and stay out of their way?

Sorry, but the law is wrong here.
Well now we are getting to the real core of the discussion, gays are sinners. I imagine the point of view of the bakers is in line with yours and that is why they are out of business. Perfectly fine to post irrational opinions here but not good for businesses.

[quote=Goodnight;42449211]This does not come close to the scale of blacks and the civil rights movement, laws such as these are in fact a product of that movement.

Says you.

Civil disobedience is a basic part of our society but it doesn't mean you're on the right side of history.

Also a matter of opinion.

The Weathermen, FALN, Black Panthers, Boston Tea Party were all fighting against what they thought were unjust laws, just be ready to accept the consequences when you lose.

It's not a matter of winning or losing.

It's a matter of two plus two remaining four.

this isnt the first time this has come up, we agree that if you get a job like this, you should realize that you have to haul things you disagree with.

That being said, this isnt a double standard. the Cake shop refused to make the cake period, the truck company did not refuse to deliver the cargo.

One was a state action and the other was federal....different jurisdictions different sets of laws and policies.

If my cashier is a Muslim who refuses to sell me liquor, I would find it inconvenient, but I will go to another store.

A baker does not want to sell this kind of cake,

I just don't know why it is such a big deal? Go to another bakery, I would say majority of the bakeries would not mind to take your money.

A lot of conflicts should be avoided if people can just leave each other alone. Labeling people or starting a movement really won't solve anything.
So let's say you're driving from Cortez, Colorado to Monticello, Utah. There are no gas stations in the 60 mile stretch. Your car breaks down. You use your cell phone for help and get a tow truck coming (which actually wouldn't happen since there is no cell phone service there), but let's just say you did. The tow truck comes and when it gets there the driver says, "I don't serve Asians" (or Blacks or gays or whatever). There is no other service. Do you start walking 30 miles in the desert heat? Just stay at your car and die?

Do you really think that all Christians interpret the Bible in the same way?

You don't carelessly leave yourself in such a vulnerable position. You call your roadside assistance service provider and tell them what happened. They'll make things right.

Or a cake depicting the prophet mohamed. I wonder how that would go over...

That is something that could be denied for religious beliefs, but they couldn't deny an Atheist from being able to order any cakes they made.
