Say I'm at a Walmart or Taco Bell with my family and am lawfully carrying my concealed firearm.
If a bunch of unidentified people come in carrying AR-15's, am I authorized to take action to defend myself and my family? Or do I have to wait until an attack begins? How do I know whether they are friendlies or whether they have appropriate training?
Are they shooting at you? Why would you "take action" if there is no threat?
Exactly. I mean, it takes at least 0.00003 seconds for the bullet to get from the bad guy's gun to your flesh. You ought to be able to see it coming and take the appropriate action before being shot. Remember, you're a "good guy with a gun." And he's a "bad guy with a gun" even though you didn't know it until he shot you 0.00003 seconds ago.

How do we definitively know there is no threat? When a stranger to you walks into a store with a gun in hand or shoulder then the threat is real and present. When other people get scared and head for thedoor or dive under tables can you consider that a threat or worse is unfolding?
