Thank you. Seriously, thank you for bringing this up!

What many of us "on the right" didn't care for was her taking over the Federal School lunch program. If it was so awful why not eliminate it? Not to mention her kids certainly wouldn't be partaking of this healthy fare,, but it was a great idea for everyone elses to do so.

Perhaps we can get the government involved in other life choices.

Perhaps Hillary Clinton can select everyone's spouse?

A simple answer may be because a salad costs anywhere from $7- 10, and a burger is .99-2.50 at a fast food restaurant. In the grocery store...fresh vegetables can be outrageous. Any type of lean meat like burger or healthier alternatives like turkey burger or veggie "meats" are a lot more expensive than a pound of fat and gristle ridden meat. Organic is pretty pricey as well. Natural peanut butter that isn't full of sugar isn't cheap.

However....there are plenty of foods which are inexpensive, but can be jazzed up to make a tasty meal. You just have to make the effort to research meal ideas.

They want to take care of your retirement money.
They say Americans want the government to manage their 401K and IRA accounts.

Here's one of Clinton's economic advisors.

The Retirement Expert Who Got Death Threats for Her Ideas - Bloomberg Business
Retirement policy wonks don't usually get hate mail. But in 2008, Teresa Ghilarducci, an economics professor at the New School for Social Research, proposed replacing 401(k) plans and their income tax break with a mandated government savings plan for all workers. The blowback was so intense that the school's chief of security gave her his cell phone number.

The plan called for mandatory savings of 5 percent of salary, with the government handling all investment decisions, guaranteeing a rate of return above inflation, and ultimately paying out the retirement money in a lifelong annuity. It's pretty radical. Conservatives hate it. She continues to advocate for it, though she won't comment on whether she has discussed it as one of the cadre of economists advising Hillary Clinton in her presidential bid.

As a nation we practice over consumption of everything period. Be it food, drink, smokes, things, houses, cars and so forth. We are gluttons period.--we have the worse habits, but we are not alone in the world, however, our food is laced with sugar and oils etc.
We do think bigger is better, I can never eat all the food at a restaurant - always take a doggie bag. I think some places are healthier, would love to see less cars and more mass transit. Gotta walk to the bus stop! Also now they are trying to do away with recess or play time at Schools, they are nuts!!! Lack of good laws keep kids inside - pedophiles get probation and if you have little money, your kid is not playing sports in most places - we do not encourage better behavior, only stick our noses up and point fingers . When was the last time some one jumped on congress to make gym and other physical stuff mandatory in schools, a lot of that has been taken away ... Well the elite have no clue.

It's a result of crony capitalism, just like every other issue is in America. Watch the 2014 documentary, Fed Up.

TGIF and Olive Garden mails BOGO entree coupons.
Little Caesars ( and other national pizza pie chains) routinely offer $5 pizza or BOGO.

WinCo has store brand mac and cheese for 40 cents.

Soda is cheaper in store brands and especially in 2-liter bottles.

Aha, maybe there's a correlation between Standard American Diet and Seasonal Affective Disorder.

People with chronic agita often self-medicate with food and don't need any more aggravation.
