I'll note that despite the title of your thread the cited article does not talk about Islam, it talks about RADICAL Islam.

HOW is this any different than RADICALS like the KKK who are self-professed Christians?
1. the kkk make up about a thousand knuckheads running around being stupid. There are more than 200 million radicalized muslims at a minimum.
2. the overwhelming majority of people who live in countries where there are kkk types oppose their every action, and force them to the margins of society. in the majority of countries the majority of non-radicalized muslims have expressed understanding that the actions of the radicals are within the islamic tradition.
3. No person, kkk member or not, can use the New Testament scripture to justify murder...or even the use of violence for any end. Every person on the face of the earth, can pick up a koran and find plenty of passages that speak of the use of violence and mayhem to achieve political means. That includes, beatings, economic deprivation, rape, sex slavery, murder and torture.
4. Every member of the kkk is an idiot and should be derided and driven from polite society. Every progressive I have run across seems to be far too willing to justify and excuse radicalized islam. in fact the current president wont even recognize it exists.
