While I am at the range tomorrow, I will let you argue. Have fun, I will.

I said that having selective fire is one of the features common to assault rifles.

It does not mean that a weapon that has all the other qualification does not met the requirements.

A assault rifle is always at the base level a semi-automatic, it does not mean that ALL semi automatics are assault rifles.

As I pointed out before, an assault rifle is the some of its parts.

If you are using an M4 and you go from full auto to semi auto, does it cease being an assault rifle?

Your arguments have no merit. Your trying to pass of a banana as an apple.

The AR does not have this feature that is "common" to assault rifles. So its more like my 30-06 semi auto hunting rifle, other than appearance.

Of course it does, if it does not meet the requirements. The AR nor my 30-06 operate any differently, and they have the same features and lack the same features of a Military weapon.

An Assault rifle is a fully automatic weapon with semi auto capability. The AR does not qualify, nor does my 30-06

Everything is the sum of its parts, including you.

We have already established an M4 is an assault rifle. The question should be, if you want to go to full auto mode, and use the AR15 "as" an assault rifle, can you do it?

We the gun owners, like our guns because gun grabbers are pretty well in favor of allowing illegal Aliens, along with the criminal ones, and potential Terrorists to gain access to out Nation. We also know that folks like you want to disarm the rest of the people, because they don't think like you. That's another problem. We have to wonder to what limits people like you will go to, to disarm the legal gun owners. Today you try legislation, and when that don't work, what next? Door to door warrantless searching? We can tell from your tone, and the way you loath gun owners, that your capable of most anything, with this unhealthy obsession. So there we are. Do your best with your fascist zeal.

The government doesn't seem to have a grip on it and we the people gave ourselves to be the last line of defense. It's a time that there should have been a call to arms long ago, our very own government wants to disarm us of the weapons they are using, to unknowingly feed us to the wolves.

This allows illogical gun nuts (a redundant term, since a gun nut is almost always illogical by nature) to constantly move around gun laws. For example, California banned .50 caliber weapons. Gun manufactures then made .499 caliber weapons that bypassed the laws, yet functioned identically. The law markers should have banned all bullets over a certain grain or bullets that that have an excess of 4,000 ft·lbf. That would have allowed for zero work around.

I wonder to myself what is the constitution of those obsessed with guns that puts them into such an uneasy state. Their passionate zeal is more akin to a religious fanatic then someone with a regular hobby or interest.
I've often heard this argument, that "the gun control crowd" doesn't know anything about guns, but more than anything I think this is just a very typical preamble to launching into gun detail as only a real gun enthusiast can do, as you describe, with "passionate zeal more akin to a religious fanatic."

I don't know if I can speak for the "gun control crowd" or whether I am even a part, because I am ultimately resigned that we can't really do much to stop gun violence in America, again that "genie is out of the bottle." However, I can have an opinion either way without knowing all that much about guns, because I also ultimately rely on those who DO know enough to suggest what might be best and see how THEIR argument holds.

As for the NEED to know about such details, I think most Americans know little about politics, yet there is no shortage of opinion in that regard either. We don't need to know all that much about illegal drugs to have opinion about those controls either. In fact, I often think people lose sight of "the big picture" getting bogged down in irrelevant detail, "losing sight of the forest for the trees" if you will...

WOW, you take "others" words because you think they know....

So, lets start out with a very easy question, will you answer this time or are you going to provide another diatribe of nothing?

How many people are killed yearly by this evil black rifle, for that matter, what about all long guns?

Oh, and to provide an argument, you should know the good and the bad side of the discussion, not what other people think....

For Jessica Chambers, the assault weapon was fire.

For Delbert Belton, the assault weapon was a flashlight.

For Diane Whipple, the assault weapon was two dogs.

My hubby says my fingernails would fit the description of assault weapon.

It is a term to stir emotion, nothing more.

I CONSIDER what people know about many subjects more than what I know, just as we all do when it comes to many subjects common to politics.

You need to humble yourself a bit if you ask me, and as for your approach toward this sort of exchange, as I've highlighted in bold above, you certainly need to learn more than a thing or two in general. That and/or you can stick your evil black rifle right up there next to where you seem to have your head most of the time.

Me, I've got a Father's Day weekend to begin enjoying and forgive me if I'm not out there like you shooting at things...

So, you got nothing....I need to humble nothing.

What do I need to learn a thing or 2 in general, that you will not answer a simple question that can be found extremely easy.....

My head is full of knowledge, yours is not....that much is very obvious....
