Problem is that there are people here who say that the Constitution doesn't permit the vetting of values.
Values are different in different cultures, and too many immigrants don't want to assimilate into their new country. They value *their* values, some of which are abhorrent to us.
And since most of those values are tied to religion, we're up against a wall since we can't ask "what do you believe?" As if they'd tell us anyway.
It's interesting to note that Canadians feel they should be vetting values of their immigrants, which indicates to me that there are clashes of cultures, some of which may be totally unacceptable in civil Western countries. And should be, I might add.
Why anyone would believe anything posted on this blog is beyond me. You may as well cite the KKK site.
25,000 Syrian refugees have been settled in Canada, compared to 10,000 in the US and we are not having these kinds of problems here.

How anyone can deny that their culture allows and indeed encourages this kind of behavior "is beyond me." Books by such formerly devout Muslims as Ayaan Hirsi Ali's Infidel and Nomad lay this out in excruciating detail.
What I am trying to say is that there is a difference between telling them what accepted behaviors are and determining that they have bought into those new expectations before they get the final OK to enter the US.
I understand that for the resettlement agencies this is a volume based business. The more bodies that come in the more money they make. I get it. Host communities have no say in the matter and as such the feds and the agencies need to be held accountable to thoroughly vet these people. In the Twin Falls case, those families clearly hadn't gotten a very thorough vetting.
Well..not sure how you would do that..a small correction though...The College of Southern Idaho...CSI...runs the refugee program..they are a non-profit and make no money..regardless of the number of Refugees settled, and there is a lot of input from the community. Jobs outreach..medical and housing needs.

One that a federal prosecutor threatened have people arrested for even discussing? An event that even the local media tried to cover up and claim never happened?

One that a federal prosecutor threatened have people arrested for even discussing? An event that even the local media tried to cover up and claim never happened?

Not going to go through all that..but look at BanjoMikes post..he had it right..as usual..most of the denials were of the lie that the perpetrators were Syrian, when in fact, 2 were Eritrean and the 7 year old was from Iraq.

Sorry, but it wasn't just Twin Falls where the lies were told. Even up here in the CDA/Spokane area, our media flat out lied. They insisted that the stories were not true, that no 5 year old disabled child was sexually assaulted by Muslim "refugees". They insisted that the stories were lies by right-wing "hate groups". A federal prosecutor threatened those that reported the truth about the case. The only error in the original reports? The perpetrators were not Syrian as first reported, they were Iraqi and Sudanese.
