The Dems had that position once.
Now that they lost the advantage they whine about the Republicans holding them back.

perhaps you two should study up on the second amendment, as well as the rest of the constitution. study u on what it took to get the bill of rights passed to be ratified by the states, and the constant back and forth of rewriting the amendments, and ultimately getting them ratified. remember that 3/4 of thirteen states had to ratify them, an each had their own issues with the amendments. and before they ever went to the states, they faced an uphill battle in congress.

these amendments were ultimately put into the constitution to tell the federal and state governments what they were allowed, and not allowed to do.

then all democrats should be out as well, as they are controlled by the anti-gun crowd, climate change eco-idiots, and the UN.

read the 2nd Amendment, even 1 gun control law is illegal.

Sounds like a reasonable proposal, doesn't include many other things like background checks but it's a compromise.

In a white paper, Collins’s office described the major provisions of the amendment: It prohibits gun sales to people on two terrorist watch lists, including the No Fly List; it allows for American citizens and green-card holders to appeal if their purchase is restricted and to get attorney fees recouped if they win; and it includes a “look-back provision” that requires FBI notification if someone who’s recently appeared in a broader terrorism database buys a gun. At the press conference, Collins noted that the total number of people on the two restricted lists is roughly 100,000, most of whom are foreign nationals.

Kinda goes against the right of the PEOPLE, to Keep & Bear Arms, forgetting the shall not be infringed part.

It is as if those listed are not people and no 4th amendment even exists.

There already is a background check on all but private sales. Explain to me how you would enforce a background check on private sales.

the problem with this legislation is that it is an end run around the constitution, not only the second amendment, but the fifth amendment as well as it requires no due process to suspend ones rights, only to get them back. sorry but this is not only bad legislation, but unconstitutional as well.

Yes if someone is going to sell a gun in a private sale it's hard to regulate before the fact except for gun shows and internet sales, they could however increase the penalties for non-compliance.

It is temporary and they have the right to contest their classification in court, also there is a rather large percentage of foreign nationals on the list.
