NO OFFENSE to the Guard.....but....they're war fighters not cops. The part time soldiers won't "clean house" any better than the full time cops can. It's just having the will to do it.
You could activate one National Guard infantry or MP unit and they'd clean house just fine. But it wouldn't be any better than if they activated 20 SWAT teams and did the same thing. (In an American city that is...not a Middle Eastern one)
My point is....using the Guard would do nothing but make the thugs respect the cops EVEN LESS. As if to make the thugs feel like they are too tough for the cops and....in an ISIS sort of way....empower the thugs.
No. Use the guard to support the perimeter and maintain headquarters security. Let SWAT do the door kicking.
The leftist thugs wanted a war with the COPS. Well....give it to them.
Uh; not true. When the Guard was activated in LA back in 1992; the hood rats and their fans started standing DOWN like as in real fast cause "stuff got real". The rats KNEW they'd be shot IF they even thought of drawing on a Guardsman.
One witness said that the shooter was walking down the street shooting at anything that moved before police arrived. If so, it seems odd that no civilians were shot.
It's time to start bringing back public executions for these types of criminals. Public interrogation, so there is no mistake. Followed by public humiliation. Followed by public execution. Then send the criminal's body back to the neighborhood they came from, so the message is driven home, loud and clear. American's will not tolerate this BS. Our law enforcement officers should not have to feel like targets.
The power of righteousness and justice shall prevail.

I think the cops already took care of that.

A lot of the problem is Obama talks about problems with police but he has not made one proposal to change anything in the law. He had time to issue executive orders allowing men to use women's restrooms, which was obviously a much more pressing issue. Since 2014 the flames have been fanned but many people feel nothing has changed. To quote an old country song we need a lot less talk and a lot more action.

While I don't know the motives in this case, you might say public executions have precipitated some of this citizen on cop violence.

You're absolutely correct. That was a mass riot and I agree the guard needs to handle those along with police.
I guess my point is....as you said....the hesitancy the thugs had of drawing on a Guardsman....should be the same reaction tbey have when confronted with a cop. Why is it different??? This won't be solved until it's NOT different. Which is why instead of raising the white flag and calling in the Guard....they need to mobilize every SWAT team in that state and clean house. Every warrant served. Every thug jailed.
