That may be true if you just pulled the plug overnight. But if changes were phased in over a few years, there would be plenty of jobs and GDP would gradually accelerate to a much higher level than we are currently experiencing. More people working would demand more products and services.
Generalizing I do not disagree that we can do better. The problem is we would have to quit allowing the banks to run the economy but it is the banks with the money.

In Order to have Free Trade, all countries economies would have to be modeled after ours.
Would you like to replace our economy with one like China's where workers have no rights and millions have their independent farms bull dozed and are forced to move to the cities for work?

Because they expect courts here to protect their rights, such as patents and intellectual property. If you are going to move your production there, go to their courts to protect your rights and interests.
There is a point where economic inequality becomes so prominent that it actually perpetuates dysfunction (see crime in Brazil and South Africa).
No one is suggesting that everyone should earn the same amount, but the most problematic societies in the world are ones where so little control so much. Remember, money is power.
True, but it greatly increases the odds of having two jobs. With only one parent there is zero chance of having two incomes.
