It's the entire idea the country was founded upon. You call that foolish?

Department of Justice to take action against Newton County for religious discrimination."

Agree or get sued!
well, they can sue,

according to their open letter

As you know, the county commission’s decision came after a week in which local leaders and
citizens expressed opposition to the project based largely on anti-Muslim bigotry.

The first question that comes to my mind is if there are enough Muslims in south Newton
County that we need to build not only a mosque but a community, a school and what all is in the
plan,” Commissioner Douglas told The Rockdale Citizen, “would building those things make us a
prime area for the federal government to resettle refugees from the Middle East? So I do have some
concerns, like the people who live down there.”

Local leaders also expressed opposition to the mosque because it is a mosque.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

based on the first bolded, I would counter-sue and accuse their opposition Muslims of racism, bigotry, and hatred of the US Constitution in their ongoing preaching of Sharia law that is part of Islam, plus their bigotry and disrespect for the citizens of the county and their elected officials who exercised their US legal rights to vote down the building.

The government has no right to dictate to the people. The people have spoken. They do not want a mosque in their community. If the government forces this community to accept a mosque it means that Muslims will be allowed to build mosques anywhere they choose regardless of what the people have to say about it.

No, you don't have that kind of right based on your religion. Regardless you are Muslim, Christians, Catholic, or Jewish. etc.

Get over yourself. You are not fooling or intimidating anyone.

Everyone has a right to argue to change the laws.

They already can if the property is zoned for it.

They have the absolute right to be treated the same as any other religion.

All they have to prove is that the land is zoned for this use.

Obviously, you didn't read what I just posted.

It is okay though. I would counter sue.

Post 1960's Revisionism. The country was founded on the idea of citizenship for "free whites of good character" and freedom of and from the Christian religions. There was virtually no Islam in America in the 1780's nor in NW Europe.

Amerindians and blacks were segregated non citizen, and you seriously think the founders intended to protect middle easterners' religion that was essentially unknown and inconsequential to them? That's ridiculous revisionism.

Muslim invaders were driven out of southern Europe a few times during the middle ages and were essentially unknown and inconsequential to the British colonist and the patriots.

Progressive need to get their narrative straight. Either America was formed as a white "supremacist" country or it was always progressive as we know it post 1960's but it can't be both just to serve their arguments.

No they don't. They only have to prove the land is zoned for their desired use. If it is and others have been permitted to use it for that purpose, they win.

Ask a lawyer. You are not one. I am not one either, but this much I do know. They are suing for religion based discrimination.
