Well, when Manitoba goes to war with Arkansas, We'll show those kanucks a thing or two!
Maybe... Manitoba breeds some pretty tough Canadians.

This is a very silly thread.

Canadians actually have MORE choice in healthcare than Americans. Unlike Americans, we are not restricted to which doctor or specialists we'd like to see. I can see any doctor of my choosing, walk into any clinic or hospital of my choosing. No fuss, no muss.

As for taxes...countries with higher taxes have a higher standard of living and QOL. Canadian taxes for the middle-class are much the same as an American.
Once again, I was talking about freedom of choice, which in this aspect, health care, Canada doesn't have.

Canadians in general, like American liberals, don't understand what freedom of choice is. This is a classic example of not understanding.

First of all, is each one of us a responsible individual capable of making decisions for ourselves AND dealing with the consequences for the poor decisions we make?

If the answer is yes, why do we need universal health care? Each one of us should find our own ways to pay for our own health care, through insurance or empty our own pockets. That's the freedom of choice. The freedom of choice doesn't come free as it would require personal accountability, which many American liberals hate.

If the answer is no, we basically admit that some of us are not capable of making our own decisions or willing to suffer the consequences of our poor decisions. Therefore, we should let others make the decision for us but that's not FREEDOM.

Explained as how? You don't even know Canadian laws.

Note: this isn't happening in Canada
The point is?

Are companies not free to charge whatever price they feel like for their products and services?

It's not happening in Canada because people don't have such freedom there.

Excuse me? Why are you deliberately omitting to mention that revoking of citizenship applies only to immigrant traitors and criminals who were new immigrants to Canada and were granted citizenship before they were discovered to be traitors/criminals?

America does the exact same thing to criminal immigrants who were granted American citizenship and then have proven to be traitors. America revokes their citizenship. All countries do the same thing to immigrants who prove to be traitors to their new countries.

You can't revoke citizenship that was never granted. Naturally born citizens don't have their citizenship granted to them, they are born with it.

People who are born in Canada or America don't have their citizenship given to them, they are born as citizens and their natural born citizenship cannot be revoked from them when it was never given to them in the first place.

If natural born citizens commit heinous crimes in their own countries they don't have their citizenship taken away from them and they can't be deported to become somebody else's problem. They are simply put away in prison in the country of their birth or in some cases they are executed.

Health care is a public safety issue. We don't make things like police protection and fire protection contingent on the ability to pay. Basic health care is the same way. If the guy working at McDonald's gets hit by a car, he shouldn't have to face a lifetime of medical debt slavery to pay for his hospitalization.

If you'd rather have public safety contingent upon one's income, please run for office with that as your campaign platform.

"9-11 Emergency..."

"Help, there's a guy with an axe chasing me down the street!"

"Please hold while we validate your Public Safety Insurance."

"What???"

Oh waaahhhh, waaahhhh !!!!

Does the crying baby want a pacifier dipped in maple syrup to make it feel better?

What's sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander. Titt for tatt.

Suck it up baby, grow a man-sized pair, get used to it and join in on the discussions. Or ignore it. Your choice. Don't snivel about it. Snivelling will get you nowhere and it doesn't set a good example of you as a representative of your country.

You should have read Post 79 before you posted.

In USA, citizenship revocation must go through the due process of the law while in Canada, it doesn't.

Two separate issues here.

1. A guy hit by a car.

If the guy is conscious, he should have every right to make the decision whether or not he wants treatment or even what kind of treatment.

If he's unconscious, he's no longer capable of making his own decision, therefore a decision will be make for him.

2. A guy chasing you with an ax.

In America, we just shoot the ax wielding maniac and call it a day.

OK, joke aside, I'd ask why you don't carry a gun to protect yourself at the first place? How long does it take for police to arrive? In USA, 3-5 min at best. Enough for the guy to hack you a few hundred times and smoke a cigar to relax.

Now, it is the government's responsibility to enforce the law but NOT to protect any individual. Yes, you read that right. The government is NOT responsible for protecting YOU. This is the same in US and in Canada. If the government fails to send help to you, they can't be held liable but you would be dead.

So back to you. Your safety is your problem. My Public Safety Insurance is the 9mm I carry. What's yours?

Unfortunately, in Canada, you can't even carry a gun to protect yourself. Better shape up your karate skills.

In US, it would go like this:

"9-11 Emergency..."

"Help, there's a guy with an axe chasing me down the street!"

"Do you have anything to protect yourself?"

"Yes, I have a 9mm pistol in my hand."

"Well, ma'am, you gotta do what you have to do."

In Canada, it would go like this:

"9-11 Emergency..."

"Help, there's a guy with an axe chasing me down the street!"

"Could you speak softly to the gentleman trying to calm him down?"

"What the $@#$?"

"Well, ma'am, we don't appreciate your profanity. We would have to cite you for hate speech."
