The day after 3,000 Americans were slaughtered by terrorists, Trump was only worried about his own building, and had to brag in an interview that it is now the tallest. You wanna talk about narcissism? This is the most egregious example someone can provide.

The comment about the towers not being great buildings was based on their financial failures, which few people were ever aware of, yet real estate developers like Trump obviously were.
They suffered low occupancy rates, poor visibility as per design with extremely narrow window openings, were out of code with respect to asbestos that could not be corrected ... suffered galvanic corrosion which occurs when aluminum and steel are mated together without insulating material to prevent chemical reactions that lead to metal fatigue....
All of this was well known, and the port authority needed countless exceptions to environmental code violations that were financially impossible to correct.
But I understand the consistent views from liberals when it comes to you all finding anybody who tells the truth to be a disgusting human being, while embracing and loving liars, like Hillary Clinton.
Donald Trump could also be considered an internet troll or, more accurately, the political version of those types on YouTube who make their online careers out of smearing the work of others while contributing nothing of value on their own. They bash and insult what they cannot understand what they cannot hope to accomplish with their own meager skills, but since Americans love watching people get torn down, they have a huge following.
Trump is no different. Any idiot can stand around and complain about things - he doesn't even need to add in the bigotry, lies, and propensity for violence if he just wants people to support him, so you know his hatred is genuine. But it takes a real person with actual experience and ideas to propose real solutions and work with others to accomplish them. Trump simply has no good ideas (sorry, but a religious test for citizenship is NOT a good idea, regressives) and he certainly is not willing to work with others since he's spent his whole adult life getting his way by yelling and acting like a white-collar thug.
What I find particularly sickening is since he has no political track record, people are dumb enough to think he'd be an honest politician - despite him being dishonest in everything else he's done in life - and many are also stupid enough to think that he is somehow going to work miracles if elected. The "logic" seems to go something like this, "Clinton hasn't prevented the North Koreans from getting nukes, but Trump's never failed like that and he says he's going to do something, so we should elect him." The amount of fail in that reasoning is astounding.
It doesn't take any skill to yell and scream while throwing mud and insults, and even a child should be able to see past Trump's defensive of "I've never been a weak political leader" when he has never been a politician at all. Unfortunately, right-wing regressives are immune to facts and reason, and hence Trump the dictator is a very real possibility.

A correction. While from the time of construction through the 80s the occupancy rate was low, at the time of the attacks, the buildings were at 95% occupancy--considered virtually full. The PA's RE department had marketed the building into a huge turnaround, making the building attractive to the firms who bid on the lease--and in effect worked themselves out of their jobs. Most were still there assisting with the transition to SPI that was still in progress on 9/11/01. Some of them died.
He's a New Yorker. Not some pussified wimp from Liberalville. Men can make jokes in bad situations. It's how we process things sometimes. He had friends in that building. He was hurting and angry as anyone.
