And there you go trying to shoot the messenger as predicted. It's not the journalist's opinion and interpretation of DOJ statistics. It was straight mathematical calculation from the DOJ statistics in the link. All you have provided is your opinion and interpretation of the journalist which doesn't count for anything.
Saying that racism is in our DNA may have been a figure of speech, but I wouldn't have put it that way. Because that implies that we are genetically destined to be racist and we can't do anything about it. Rather I would say that racism is a learned behavior, passed down from generation to generation. But we can change.
Obama's point I think is that we have a long history of it in this country and it has proven difficult to eliminate in the space of a few generations. Slavery was legal up to 150 years ago, and institutional segregation and discrimination continued under Jim Crow laws for another 100 years, so the legal framework to end racism is fairly recent. Changing people's attitudes naturally takes longer, frustrating as that may be.

Thank you. The way I see it, we're in 2016. We're all free. We have the same rights. Is there discrimination taking place? Of course. That said, learning about history is hardly race hustling. I would not say racism is embedded in this nation's DNA. I would say this. Racism has been something that has existed in the USA going back for ages, if you look at it in historical context. There are still bigots today. The poster you responded to, all I'm seeing is histrionics.
If someone says what's good for blacks is good for me and that's all that matters, that's not a race hustling?
What do they call someone who says what is good for whites is good for me and that's all that matters. They're called racist, supremacist, Nazis and klansman.
