So Carrier turned down a prior offer but suddenly accepted this one, more tax breaks or a threat to United Technologies?

In the end, UTC agreed to retain approximately 800 manufacturing jobs at the Indiana plant that had been slated to move to Mexico, as well as another 300 engineering and headquarters jobs. In return, the company will get roughly $700,000 a year for a period of years in state tax incentives.
But John Mutz, a former Indiana lieutenant governor who sits on the agency’s 12-member board, told POLITICO that Carrier turned down a previous offer from IEDC before the election. He said he thinks the choice is driven by concerns from Carrier’s parent company, United Technologies, that it could lose a portion of its roughly $6.7 billion in federal contracts
On the heels of this, apparently there are talks of saving the Oreo jobs in Chicago too. I have to give credit where credit is due. Dang, he's accomplishing quite a bit so far before he's even sworn in. I voted for him primarily because it was a vote against Clinton but I honestly didn't think he would be all that effective. He keeps this up and I'll be impressed.

According to the Nikkei, Apple made the request to explore moving manufacturing to its partners in June, prior to President-elect Donald Trump’s victory in the recent election. But despite that, this report has to be considered in light of Trump’s comments regarding Apple earlier this year.
Obama could have easily done these things, but he had no interest in doing so. Once Trump takes down the corporate tax rate & allows the trillions of dollars that are parked offshore back in the States along with several other common sense measures you are going to see a boom like the Reagan years with 5%+ growth yearly.
