They can't say "America voted for Trump because he was so popular," then turn around and say popularity doesn't matter one whit when he's President. Furthermore, he needs to do something to raise his approval ratings because if he doesn't, he will not be reelected. Sure, election time is a long way away, but every mistake, misstep, and misTweet hurts his chances of reelection.
Lord Chamberlain wanted to "get along" with Hitler. Look it up yourself.

Popular does not equal the right thing.

Integration was against popular thought.

Gay rights, including marriage, is another example of right over popularity.

Do you advocate popularity over right?

Abraham Lincoln was unpopular, so much so he was murdered for his beliefs and his affect on the country. Yet, he was absolutely right for his stance against slavery and his unpopularity cost him his life. His legacy proved he was absolutely right.

Yeah, considering that they are winners, they sure do spend a lot of time here defending him and being in an angry mood. One would almost think that they lost the election.
