The amount of violence and additional crime stemming from those illegal enterprises, both here and abroad, is astounding.

Just a wall is not going to solve anything. Military securing the border, problem solved. No wall needed. Too much money, less effective.

I am a Trump supporter and a Trump voter; but that "build a wall, build a wall" non-sense is something I don't agree with.
No worries...it was never going to get built anyway.

The demilitarized zone in Korea is also very effective in keeping the borders sealed to individuals trying to cross it. The wall I would like to see would be similar to these two examples.
This isn't Israel, nor is it South Korea. Geezus...are you OK this afternoon?

We're gonna create what's basically a mock-up of war zones in Israel or the Korean Peninsula on what's largely a peaceful border in a peaceful hemisphere?

Beam me up Scotty.

The cartels also smuggle the majrority of illegal aliens into the US and that is a large chunk of their business. Even though if the border is sealed and the drug business declines, Central America will be safer and based on liberal media theories there will be fewer illegals trying to make the crossing.

And no, I don't advocate legalizing cocaine and meth. Another thing that will reduce drug use is if our society has better morals and values, but liberals are against any kind of religious or moral education in schools. I do believe that if we go back to becoming a more Christian nation we will also have less issues with drugs and crime.
That's right. Bring back school prayer and our drug problems will all go away.

Nevermind that your "God" made weed and coca leaves in the first place according to your Bible.

Mexican DTOs dominate the transportation of illicit drugs across the Southwest Border. They typically use commercial trucks and private and rental vehicles to smuggle cocaine, marijuana, methamphetamine, and heroin through the 25 land POEs as well as through vast areas of desert and mountainous terrain between POEs. Asian traffickers, OMGs, and Indo-Canadian drug traffickers transport significant quantities of high-potency marijuana and MDMA into the United States across the U.S.-Canada border. They use commercial trucks and private and rental vehicles to transport these drugs through more than 100 land POEs. They also use all-terrain vehicles (ATVs), aircraft, maritime vessels, and couriers on foot to smuggle drugs through vast areas between POEs.

Most drugs are coming right through the gate we already have

I suspect heroin is being flown around the country in passenger aircraft with the assistance of TSA. Start investigating and prosecuting that while the wall is being built. Shut down the distribution network. Obama's administration has a lot to hide here.

.....
You may want to go to Israel and see the see the actual wall. The concrete walls only exists where large cities exist. The other 80% is some other type of barrier. Israel has a barrier fence with other countries and not a wall. Egypt is the only country that installed a concrete barrier and that was only with the Gaza Strip.
Israels drugs have been found to not only come directly from Muslims, but to come in via the Ultra Orthodox Jews called Haredi.

What will the new wall do to the cartels?
Nothing. It is naive to think it would stop, or even slow down drug trafficking.

If the gateway for illegal drugs to the US is sealed, will the cartels be defeated as without profits, they'll no longer be able to control the government and police in Latin America? Do you think its possible the Mexican cartels and Central American gangs may resort to terrorism like Pablo Escobar did in order to preserve their dominance and prevent the wall from being built?
Too much money involved and there are other ways to get their product into the USA. But then again there will be no wall, so there is that to consider.
