$100,000 is too much money. They should have solicited public bids to perform the surgery. I bet they would have gotten bids for much less to perform sex change surgery on a killer.

I'm all for people pursuing whatever sex identity they want....

But not on tax payer dime and certainly don't believe that a convict is deserving.

The article says he tried to kill himself 5 times by cutting or hanging. Maybe as taxpayers we can help him with examples of how to do it correctly. Win win.

After the change though. I believe the man will need constant hormone replacement therapy since he will be missing his testies.

Reading this and remembering the thread about California wanting to secede from the U.S. brings my response "How can we help?"

Why have separate women's prisons at all then? Just house them with men. You don't find this appalling?

They might be factoring in the costs of having guards in the hospital, they chain inmates to the bed and have a correctional officer in the room 24/7, it's more expensive than you would think

Many of the outraged posters here could calm their nerves if they just got the facts. Unfortunately it is easier to just fume and blame all us hell bound liberals in California. Post after post is like this here. Knowledge is power but there ain't much power around these parts!!!
