I agree, if the woman's story is true. It would have been one thing if the teens were only alleged to have thrown rocks at the woman's property. But, no, they are alleged to have thrown rocks at the woman. Having written that, there's still a lot more to parse out and understand.

They were good boys on the way to church. They were going to rob the church, but they were going.

They both had full cognitive ability, one however did suffer from some damage, causing "emotional" problems.

Approaching it logically and not in a "pissed off in the moment" state the cost/benefit of shooting someone for this does not add up.

I still think a paintball gun and attic window is the best answer.
I completely see your point.

Or a bb gun, but I suppose that would be viewed as overly cruel now.
As a child, before paintballs, we used to have bbgun wars. I still recall digging a few out of my skin.

She has already changed her story in interviews.

According to the court testimony she had called the police that day about kids throwing rocks 4 days prior and said that if they show up again she would shoot them. The 15 year old was shot while on the sidewalk. She state to the police that she shot several times to "scare them off".

Based on another interview she said that they were throwing rocks with a look of hatred in their eyes. Looking at that video, the sidewalk is quite a distance from the house. How did she see a look of hatred, in the dark, from 40 to 50 feet away? You can google her address and see the distance from the road to the house.

In another interview she said that she was at a neighbors house then went home, went inside, and then came back out to confront them. If you are scared for your life you don't leave one place to go to another, then come back out.

According to the case report she told police that she was outside checking the tire pressure with her daughter and didn't have time to go in the house so she shot at them to scare them.

Not saying that the boys are guilty or innocent of throwing rocks, but her story isn't consistent.

This is why you people have no respect for firearms.

You don't use a firearm unless you are willing to kill. Why on earth would you use a lethal weapon as a warning? What if you accidentally killed someone in the stupid attempt to "warn them". Look, if you aren't planning to kill someone, you don't point a gun at them and you sure as hell don't fire a stupid warning shot which is the height of irresponsible firearm use.

No wonder you people are so clueless when it comes to the gun issue!

If all that is true, then she is well and truly f**ked. Murder 2 most likely but maybe even Murder 1 since they could potentially spin her comments to the police as indication of premeditation.

I read the article and all the posts and was surprised nobody else saw the obvious.

If a group of white kids continuously went to a black residence and threw items at those who lived there it would be treated as a racist incident. There is no doubt about that.

Also the "hood" rule of not giving names to the police is mentioned in what some of the boys said to the woman.

What she did was not smart.

What is happening in the country with out of control groups is becoming very alarming.

Can you provide some links to verify these claims?

Since you made them, I think it only reasonable you back up your assertions as to the various "facts" you have presented us.

Thanks!

She shouldn't have shot at the kids at all.

She should have called the cops.

There's likely a school nearby, the kids made a regular path through her neighborhood.

There's a principal at the school, go through the yearbook and find the trouble makers and file a report.

Too many other options instead of using a gun, she was simply too stupid to handle it any other way.
