I didn't think much of Boehner when he was Speaker and I seriously doubt Paul Ryan is paying any attention to him now.
Do you think Ryan is paying attention to the huge crowds showing up at town halls across the country demanding that the GOP not take away their healthcare? I'm guessing he is.
Republicans are in a jam now--they are in a position to do what they claimed they wanted to do for six years now, but they lack both the will and a real "replacement" with which to move forward. It's going to be fun watching them squirm.
Two members of my family are utterly for repealing Obamacare and going back to how it was before. Of course, these also happen to be the two family members that have been receiving Federal disability benefits for two+ decades, and so also receive Medicare coverage. In short, they think they have a dog in that fight, but they really don't. I suspect many of the full repeal supporters are in the same boat.
I hear legally will be a nightmare- do not expect any quick fixes -- they should have contributed their ideas in the beginning- but they sat down arms crossed, lips buttoned, and eyes shut-- ... well surfer now darlings--- suffer..

As I posted elsewhere, IMHO the GOP didn't have a plan to repeal, repair, or replace. They didn't expect Trump to win and actually have to deal with it. HRC as president is what they planned for and were going to let the ACA become her albatross.

Republicans are in a jam, but it's hardly for lack of will. Obama and the Democrats royally screwed up the healthcare system in this country. And no matter which party was voted into power in 2016, they had a godawful mess they had to fix up...thanks to Obama, in case I hadn't mentioned it before. Anything will have to be phased in gradually, just the way the ACA was phased in to hide the market distortions the ACA created. Just repealing the ACA could cause a snap-back effect nobody wants. If Hillary was president we'd have a massive PR push to shame Republicans into giving her an enormous tax hike. But all the internal problems and contradictions of Obamacare would still exist...as well as being unaffordable for many people.
Democrats thoroughly effed up a great healthcare system, now they need the adults to fix it.
Not sure what they are going to do, but I don't think listening to Boehner, the Obama hand puppet is really a good gauge of anything. Someone get John another drink and have a good cry with him, nobody cares about him.

You are joking, yes? You think a healthcare system that discriminates who can be insured is great? That it is OK to kick someone off insurance who gets sick and is racking up healthcare bills? You think it is great that low income people were denied insurance?
ACA is not perfect and should be fixed. But the only way to really fix it is to go to a single payer system which the Dems could not get passed and I doubt the Pubs will even try to implement.

Exactly!
