Our liberals aren't quite the same as in the blue states. They're much more reasonable. Note the lack of riots and blocking traffic (though that may happen with all the protesters coming here for the Super Bowl media attention).
This is true, but its also why flipping to red is a real possibility. If reasonable Democrats like farmers, laborers & union members continue to be villianized & excluded, they will leave due to progressive extremism.
I hope no one thinks less of the State of MN based on the actions of a few crackpots.
We have our ups and downs, we are not much better than anywhere else. We have low unemployment, good wages ect...but all because of the strength of the United States.
But Minneapolis is not the city it was even 5 years ago. Crime is way up and quality of life is going down. If the liberals control Minneapolis for even 5 more years it will be another Baltimore.
Liberals have controlled Minneapolis and the state of MN for at least the past 70 years. During that time the state has consistently ranked in the top 10 with respect to education, health and quality of life.
The past few years there has been growth in conservativism in MN (example: crackpot Michelle Bachman), so if you notice quality of life is going down, maybe that's why.
Amazing thing is, this election if some of you remember is the closest Minnesota came to voting Republican since Gerald Ford. Minnesota is a sucker for the losing candidate. It was after midnight before the state was called for Hillary and after the numbers were finalized I believe she only won by less than 10,000 votes.
So nothing like California's 70% for Hillary numbers. This doesn't come close to making any sense.
But yeah, if we become Canadian I'm going to have to learn how to spell favorite and color and our youth hockey is going to have to start teaching the art of the cheapshot boarding check much earlier.
I think it was 25 states that petitioned for secession after the 2012 election. LOL!
30 actually.
"Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Nevada, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, West Virginia, Wisconsin and Wyoming."
"A threshold of 25,000 signatures must be met within 30 days for petitions to be reviewed. The Obama administration explains, “If a petition meets the signature threshold, it will be reviewed by the Administration and we will issue a response.”
Alaska always wants to secede, no matter who wins the election. Joe Vogler, leather jacket, fist in the air, used to run every year on the Independence party ticket. He had a fair amount of support. He was found during one spring thaw, frozen and wrapped in a blue tarp. Foul play was suspected.
I thought the petition said to succeed and thought, well why not?
