Minnesota to Secede? - Alpha News

MN has always had an independent streak and their culture is so different from the rest of America. I lived there for a few year and it was a BILLION times better than any other place in the US, hands down. I'd move there if they choose to leave the US.

MN is more libertarian than liberal though. There are cities around south Minneapolis that are dominated by the Libertarian party. Plus, the MN millitia has been pretty strong historically. So I wouldn't characterize this as libs trying to secede. More like a state that is allready culturualy and politically unique realizing that it's closer to Canada than America.

Also, don't forget that MN is home to 50 or so fortune 500 companies, from cargill, target, us bank, 3m, etc...so the state is a big player economically. And garrison keiller was right when he says that kids in MN are above average, at least relative to OH, FL, PA and other states.

As you can tell, I love MN...it's too bad I had to go to CA for work

They can't.

No Governor nor State legislature has the right to remove citizenship from not even one of their residents nor remove them to another country.

They have not the authority to do so.
