How many times do I have to say that I am not a conservative and don't want conservative points of view pushed either.
How about political ideologies get presented equally and the students make up their own minds?

The fact is that educated people with worldly experience (travel, etc.) tend to be more liberal. The Chicken (educated people) came first before the Egg (liberal arts)....

This narrative is part and parcel of a myth that the right in this country often projects - that there are "two sides" to every subject and/or point of view. There are not. Some subjects have 10 sides...some have one side (facts). There is no such thing as a "conservative" education, but there are the liberal arts. Not the conservative arts.

The OP and folks like you have somehow been brainwashed into thinking that liberal is a negative descriptor. And so, for your continued knowledge, please note the definition(s).

lib·er·al
ˈlib(ə)rəl/Submit
adjective
1.
open to new behavior or opinions and willing to discard traditional values.
"they have more liberal views toward marriage and divorce than some people"
2.
(of education) concerned mainly with broadening a person's general knowledge and experience, rather than with technical or professional training.
synonyms: wide-ranging, broad-based, general
"a liberal education"

Those who don't want their children to have this type of education are foolish, IMHO. Myopic. Conservative.

You have the full right to make sure your own children don't have the tools to compete in the modern world. On the other hand, don't expect educated and reasonable people to buy arguments that the new breed of "know nothings" or "feel it in my gut" or "the lord will guide me" educators are superior to the type that have created the modern world.

All and well if righties want to chuckle and make jokes about an educated populace. But, in reality, their entire existence stands on the shoulders of the same people they laugh at.
Wonderful post!

Yes, broadening one's general knowledge. Diversity right? Diversity enriches us all, except when it's a diversity of ideas.

Universities should be a hubbub of the full range of political perspectives from A to Z, not just from V to Z. So maybe we progressives could take a brief break from attacking the other side and more broadly incorporate values that we supposedly cherish — like diversity — in our own dominions.
