I really hope the state takes a hard look at how to curtail costs while offering better care. The UC hospitals & medical schools and research facilities are among the best in the world-that should be a major component of a statewide healthcare system.
Yep, there is a reason why the best and brightest come to America to study. And then people come to the US for medical procedures as well.

I wholeheartedly believe that California is uniquely positioned to integrate world class research and primary care to the masses by expanding the networks of already exisiting university run health systems.

UCSF

UC Davis

etc.

Obviously plenty of questions remain, but we should utilize the formidable health care systems that already exist.

The best and brightest of Americans also go to any number of other countries to study.

And far, far more Americans leave America every year for medical procedures than others have ever come there.

Actually the change in disability happened when welfare was reformed. That article show by year that as welfare reform took place, it decreased in direct proportion to disability increasing. Since welfare is state-funded, states are paying companies to fill out the paperwork to get people off welfare and on to disability because that is federally funded. States are literally paying companies to move welfare recipients on to disability.

My friend from church went to Mexico to get brand new veneers. Her oral surgeon there went to college in the US and she spent $2,500 there instead of $25,000 here.

That's federal. My state's plan should be for my state and residents of that state the day the law passed. No new recipients until they have resided for a good ten years. They should seek coverage either from the state they reside in or from federal.

Good for them, Universal health care is inevitable, as what you have now will soon be unaffordable....As of 2015 US cost of health care was 17% of GDP and climbing....

It began in Canada with a single province in 1947, and grew from there.
