The businesses keep coming to Washington now and they can certainly pay for health coverage if they want to hire employees from out of state. If red states think that is a determining factor, there is nothing stopping them from providing health care for their state residents. Just don't expect us to pay for them. Pretty straightforward. If blue states create health coverage for their residents, one of the most important things will be making sure only our residents receive that coverage and outsiders are excluded.

Generally minor stuff. And the republicans are arguing to allow this more and more. Big procedures people still come here, especially the elite from other countries.

Study what? We are a state of poor people and a handful of rich people. People like me who made a few bucks are still poor by comparison. Old timers with $10 million don't even get invited to the good parties. We tax income, not wealth. Take out the top earners and we are poorer than Mississippi. We have a higher poverty rate.

Unless California can convince the Feds to keep block grants intact there is nothing to study. There is no money.

Sounds like BS to me. No specifics, no costs, no timetable..... willing dupes will go along until they see what it costs.

The bill, which is a preliminary step, says that it is the “intent of the Legislature” to enact a law that would establish a comprehensive, single-payer health care program for the benefit of everyone in the state. The legislation, introduced by state Sen. Ricardo Lara (D-Bell Gardens), does not offer specifics of what the plan would look like, nor does it mention a timetable.

There infrastructure is falling apart, they have raised taxes to the point the average person can't live there now they want to give free entitlements to illegals and criminals. They need to secede and become their own country. We can extend the fence along their eastern border.

They're only facing a 2 billion dollar deficit? Geez, that's a lot less than I would've guessed.

Hope they don't short the Billions toward high speed train and free college.

Sounds like a paradise with money to burn.

It's already a magnate for bums, drug addicts and other homeless denizens. If they implement this the trains and busses will be full of the great sick unwashed looking for some of that CA gold!

If one is compelled to labor for the benefit of another (socialism), who gets "free" healthcare, isn't that SLAVERY?
-oh right-
American socialism (FICA) is 100% voluntary.
They don't mention that fact, do they?
