Alan Colmes had the ability to disagree, without being disagreeable, which is the mark of a better-than-average debater.

You may not have agreed with him, but most of the time, he could enunciate a good rationale for his position on any given issue, and he could deliver those points calmly, without resorting to verbal violence.

He was one of the few liberal talking TV heads who was worth the investment of time to watch.

RIP, Mr. Colmes. (Insert salute emoji here.)

Yeah, Alan seemed like a good guy. I'm surprised CNN reported on this already. NOT! Just kidding...They've got their head stuck too far up their agenda-driven a** to notice the death of one of their industry colleagues.

They're saying it was cancer, same as Brenda Buttner. I didn't agree with Colmes on much, but I enjoyed him and Hannity debating. RIP and my prayers to the family.

I don't know who he is except when I saw the picture. I recognize his face.

RIP Mr Colmes

Seemed like a decent person in a cutthroat business

He sometimes looked cadaverous years ago when he and Hannity had their show. My guess would be cancer.

Hannity called into the news channel to speak about Alan Commes passing and he was aware of his illness and how Alan worried about his wife, kids and family but not so much about himself.

I'm very curious what the Illness was that took his life so fast. I remember seeing Alan on TV not that long ago and even though he looked different, h didn't look ill. More like a fashion look change.

Very sad to see a man die at such a young age as yesterday Fox News reported how people get older nowadays.

WOW! I listened to his show regularly on replay in the mornings....and I know he had been having substitute hosts. Wow.....really sad to here that. They were saying on the show that he was doing just fine. I am deeply saddened. I don't even feel like posting anymore today.....and I won't.

One of the guys from the old days of WNBC radio (or if you're really a fan, WNNNNNBC). RIP Alan -- I never agreed with you on anything, but you were a decent guy.
