Budgets out of the WH are really a red herring. They serve mostly as a wish list and or blueprint of policy agendas of the current administration. The real show is Congress/the House. There by charge of the USC is where control of the nation's purse strings lie.

So it will fall to Mr. Ryan and the senate to craft a budget that they can live with and if necessary survive any veto by His Orangeness.

With seats in the House so heavily gerrymandered a wise member or caucus reflecting associated districts are not going to vote against those interests.

I'll tell you something else; the GOP has more to lose when you think about things. Not only the 2018 mid-term elections, but local state races in that year *and* 2020. The latter is *very* important because it will a census year. Once that process is complete and numbers are released states will begin redistricting, and the party in control of the governor's seat and or government normally has great sway in that process.

Donald Trump's presidency is a result of his appeal to regular American people.

The Donald's proposed budget will be a victory not of Republicans over Democrats....but of the American people over the elite of Washington who steal taxpayers money. Trump is saving us billions and the national debt is going down.

Trump is teaching Americans how to win.

His budget will devastate these regular people. Trump will save us billions at the expense of the middle class. Sorry, not going to happen. We will fight for the middle class and the poor. You fell for him and that's fine. But he doesn't run our country. He has to get his ideas through congress. His budget won't pass because thank god republicans want to protect the middle class and the poor.

There it is again. The same canned liberal response about the poor. Like the Rubio robot in the debates, it never gets old. The Democrats hate the poor that's why they keep them stuck on welfare and in poverty. Yeah Hillary loves the poor. And I got oceanfront property in Topeka.

Roughly 15% of Federal employees reside in the Washington, D.C. area (Virginia/Maryland/DC). The other 85% are spread across the country in communities like yours. However, the bulk of the President's proposed cuts are to grant programs that provide funds to local and state governments and to colleges and universities. Taking the EPA as an example, much of the reduction is to funding the Federal Government provides to states to ensure that citizens have clean drinking water.

One can certainly argue that it is not the Federal Government's responsibiity to provide funding to local and state governments for law enforcement, fire departments, roads and bridges, environmental cleanup, community centers, parks, housing for the poor and disabled, and job training programs, or to colleges and universities for science and research. However, the fact is that current local and state taxes do not cover the cost of these services. Not by a long shot. Cutting Federal Government grants to states will be felt in communities across the country.

On the bright side, the President's proposal to redirect 100% of these monies to U.S. military contractors like Boeing and Lockheed Martin will help ensure that our troops have the best equipment to fight wars overseas. This will be critical if we are to go to war against North Korea.

The less fortunate lose at first, we all lose in the end. Trump's budget hatchetman, Mulvaney, was at a press conference yesterday, claiming that none of these programs that work against poverty, do any good. He doesn't think that Meals-on-Wheels has any justification for funding. One thing that costs a lot of money and does nothing good, Is Trump, Mulvaney & Company.
