I agree. The beauty of our system of government is that we have 50 states that can handle most of the issues facing citizens. The federal government should only get involved when states are unable to manage an issue on their own.

Massachusetts had already created its own system of health insurance exchanges, and it was working quite well for most of the state. Even if a state is too small or poor to manage its own system, there would be nothing to stop two states, or a group of states, from banding together and forming their own exchange. Instead, we're trying to force a one-size-fits-all approach onto all 50 states. No wonder we're all frustrated.

Are we just collectively stupider than the rest of the industrial world that we cant accomplish what everyone else can for all of our citizens, even when we have 50 examples to pattern it after and choose from?
The issue, my friend, is profits. Govt. run healthcare..without insurance companies? Then there's the inevitable result of Govt. health care--caps on costs...DR.'s get less..Drug companies get less..Hospitals get less.

If....a plan was ever adapted...there would be a Restraint of Trade lawsuit filed so fast--we'd all be spinning.

I said that before I heard Trump, and he said exactly what I said. To all those screaming protestors, if you like your Obamacare you can keep your Obamacare. I don't wanna hear complaints. It's all on Democrats. Trump is doing EXACTLY the right thing. Let Democrats come up with a fix.

Insurance companies and health care providers need government involvement. That way the taxpayer picks up the bad risks and those that cannot pay and they get to make money from the good risks. 64% of healthcare dollars are paid by the taxpayer.

The Federal Government plan that covers all civil servants and congressmen includes preexisting conditions, and it is quite affordable.

I read disappointment all over your face. Sorry, you own your loveable Obamacare now. Nobody is going to fix it for you. It's all on YOU now. BTW, the mandate is off so if you think ACA in trouble, wait a few months.

Agreed..they need the deep pockets of the govt. to bail them out--but a complete govt. takeover of Healthcare...would/should leave them out in the cold....since instead of premiums to the companies..taxpayer would pay premiums in the form of a tax.

Working together? Forget it. It's all on YOU.

It's your lovable Obamacare that is more popular than ever.

Because taxpayers pay for it. Take away healthcare benefits from seniors, congress and rest of government, then let's see how serious health coverage discussions become.

"Republican Andy Harris, an anesthesiologist who defeated freshman Democrat Frank Kratovil on Maryland’s Eastern Shore, reacted incredulously when informed that federal law mandated that his government-subsidized health care policy would take effect on Feb. 1 – 28 days after his Jan. 3rd swearing-in.

“He stood up and asked the two ladies who were answering questions why it had to take so long, what he would do without 28 days of health care,”
