What he actually said was that, on Day 1 he would Ask Congress to send him a bill to repeal and replace Obama's signature health care law. He asked. So far, they haven't delivered.

Where would they have found those "other" votes? Among Republicans?

Fantasyland.
Holding together a coalition that is going to do the wrong thing and lose you the House and Senate is NOT the right thing to do.

For eight years Republicans stood around complaining about Ocare and did NOTHING. Trump called their bluff. Ryan without a plan, McDonnell without a hammer and the whip is going to come down hard on these lazy A$$ so called representatives. This is round 1. If Trump loses the vote next time it's going to fall harder on the do nothings.....AND THEY WILL REMEMBER!

For over a year Trump went around the country touting his wonderful healthcare plan that would cover every American and leave no one out.

Where is that plan?

Instead of blaming the Republicans--who at least presented something, no matter how odious--how about Trump show us this great plan of his that he was talking about for the last year?

I agree, that is one of the reasons I voted for him, he was going to repeal it and make it better, where is better??????

This post right here is how Trump gets away with his nonsense. This kind of thing and Waldokitty's posts show what happens when you only consume particular kinds of media.

So Trump has no blame in this at all? He didn't make a bunch of promises he could keep? He didn't claim to have a perfect alternative plan he clearly didn't actually have?

You know why Republicans don't have a better alternative plan? Because THERE IS NO EASY SOLUTION. People have been trying to crack that nut for DECADES and the only ideas that have ever come close to covering everyone who gets sick are 1. Romneycare (now Obamacare) - which is the best way to work with the current for-profit system and 2. Single Payer, which is the best option for government provided healthcare, which is why so many other developed countries have some version of it - only it kills the private insurance industry. There are no other ideas that won't result in large number of uncovered people, who we'll all end up paying for anyway when they turn up in emergency rooms sick or dying.

More Republicans liked Romneycare before Obama present his version of it, then they had to hate it. The only other viable solution will have to many of their constituents screaming "socialism!".... so they are screwed. They've been screwed since forever. Everyone know this, especially Boehner who tried to tell everyone recently this would never work.

They have painted themselves into an ideological corner and there is no way out.
