HB2 wasn't just about bathrooms. It went beyond that. That's why there's been massive backlash against it and is the biggest reason why Pat McCrory is no longer the governor.

It prohibits municipalities from setting their own minimum wages to match their own cost of living, regulating child labor, or making certain regulations for city workers.

It prohibits municipalities from passing their own anti-discrimination ordinances that protects LGBT (the kind that has nothing to do with bathrooms).

It also initially prevented people from filing discrimination lawsuits in state courts, though it was later dropped.

There's also the fact (as mentioned elsewhere in the NC forum) that there's no enforcement or punishment attached to HB2 regarding bathrooms. Any criminality would come from existing laws that were already in place before HB2 became law.

HB2 is a steaming pile of crap. Pure & simple.
