Our Constitutional principles have been corrupted over the many years of our history, because of the concept of "consensus and legal precedent." Judges opinions do not constitute law. They are opinions only. And no, that is not what "counts." That's why we need judges who are true scholars and "originalists," and do not simply rely on "legal precedent."

History is important, and understanding why the Framers were concerned about foreign influence and allegiances to foreign countries leads to understanding. It is quite clear that to the Framers, "natural born" meant one was the offspring of two parents born in the USA. Not just one, but two.

You may have your opinion. I have mine. This isn't some "new interpretation." What is new is the current interpretation. And the Court is free to reverse any past opinion, as they sometimes do. The Framers were clear, and they knew the meaning of "natural born." It is we who have confused the meaning, or not understood it at all. But when we study history, and learn the origin of the term, "of the soil," then we can glean what was meant by the Framers. That is important.
Don't get mad 'bro, but if you're expecting some new interpretation on the Constitution to overturn over 200 years of legal precedent, don't hold your breath.

You're not going to buy apartments/condos secretly because you're getting them at a lower price. The point is, we don't know who is buying the properties. It's not being done as in the Disney example to avoid a price hike for undeveloped land, but it could be (1.) a way to launder criminally obtained money or more ominously (2.) a way for foreign oligarchs seeking to obtain favors from a Trump White House, to make political pay offs anonymously.
Or it could be that people just don't want their name associated with Trump's.

How much of a problem would it be for government investigators to track down the actual buyers behind these shell companies?

That post was full of inaccuracies.

The real issue is lobbying. instead of simply declaring everyone corrupt we need to remove the source of corruption.

lobbyists and donor money.

No entity should be allowed to donate , advertise etc to distort our election process. Today we have billionaire buying policy.

We can end that if all americans focus on ending it as their primary concern.

that is the real key to "cleaning" out DC and every other problem we have.

RE in the USA charges more than 95% of the rest of the world's population including RICHER nations etc.

we pay 5% to 6% while the rest of the world pays more like 1-3%!

why? lobbying.

cable costs more, cells cost more, ISPs cost more. Why? because of lobbying allowing the like of Pai to have power.

as to "hillary" pay to play bs, you are a victim of fake news and you need to up your game mate. Critical thinking skills matter much more than almost anything else after 6th grade level math, reading , writing.

sharpen up your critical thinking skills and you will stop falling for fake news so easy.

I have no idea why you think a small group of wealthy powerful people two hundred and fifty years ago are infallible when our country has weak democracy that is not a patch on a number of others around the globe.

It seems to me many americans have been brainwashed into treating a basic guide for a nation as some sort of hold relic. It is just an out of date agreement that is directly responsible for many of our current woes.

I also notice you folks who love "the founders" etc, ignore all the bits that sound insanely racists classist bigoted and sexist today. If they were so damn smart how did they get so much so badly wrong. and if much of it is wrong, why should we revere what remains?

Default Special Counsel Hires Attorney Who Specialized in Eastern European Money Laundering and Organized Crime

This should have Donald Trump and his satellites shaking in their boots:

Robert Mueller "...has recruited an experienced Justice Department trial attorney... [Lisa] Page [who] has deep experience with money laundering and organized crime cases, including investigations where she’s partnered with an FBI task force in Budapest, Hungary, that focuses on eastern European organized crime."

We know that the top two industries for money laundering are casinos and high end real estate, which just happens to be what Trump Inc. specializes in. We also know that Russians and Eastern Europeans are among the top nations for money laundering.

Trump's business empire and the Russia connections of his "satellites" seems to be shady and a little fishy. There's a reason Mueller chose Ms. Page. There must be something there.

More grasping at straws by the folks that can't seem to get past the fact they lost the election. Wake us up when your paranoia actually results in something other than empty actions to give the Losers hope for the next 3.5+ years. LOL

This investigation isn't about Trump. It is about Russia.
Sounds like they are getting into the Clinton Foundation.

It was about Russia Russia Russia.... You wouldn't think he would be a good investigator, if he didn't also look into Russia's involvement with Hillary's campaign.
