In fact, he can fire the FBI chief specifically because he or she is investigating him.

There is no federal statute that prohibits a president firing someone who serves at his pleasure.

Obama could have fired A.G. Lynch for prosecuting Hillary Clinton, had she decided to do so, and would have been legally justified in doing so.

The fact that the inventers of the Russia-Trump conspiracy are clinging to this pretend legal precept, indicates how late in the game it really is.
Is that true? (honest question, I don't know the US system so we'll) if it is, surely that's a big potential problem and should be changed? That gives too much power to a President with ill intent. I thought there was supposed to be checks and balances?

Its a deceptive truth. Theres no law against doing that specifically.

There ARE laws about obstructing justice. So while he CAN do it, he may be violating the law. And can be impeached for it.

Technically, the at the time the Constitution was written, the "misdemeanors" in "high crimes and misdemeanors" meant an abuse of power and not specifically a crime. So Congress can impeach a president just for abusing the power of his office although not committing a specific crime.

Based on? Oh whats been repeatedly demonstrated to be ....fake news. Wonder where you heard that bit of nonsense from?

Funny...everyone knew Comey took notes about everything. Its not exactly a secret. Theres no blackmail here, thats the most hilarious bit of nonsense yet.

If a cop ever takes notes during a investigation, I'm going to try and tell him to stop blackmailing me with them. That should work great!
To use later to blackmail? The reason it is illegal to do what you suggest.
You didn't research why all notes and information must be turned over and a document kept in the case file.

J. Edgar Hoover used just what you are implying, to blackmail 100's of politicians. After his death and it was discovered what he was doing, it was made illegal and carries a 20 year federal, no probation and no parole, sentence.

Go look it up yourself. Don't take my word for it.

So will a single Trump supporter answer the question?

IF Comey, under oath, testifies that Donald Trump did indeed ask him to stop the investigation on Flynn, which then means that OFFICIALLY Donald Trump committed obstruction of justice...

Would Trump supporters feel that, if it is a FACT Trump committed obstruction, that he be penalized in any way?

I have already seen some fake news claiming Comey is more guilty of coordinated politics with Russia than Trump.

I expect a post hearing head line

Comey looks more Russian than Trump therefore it is Comey not Trump that needs to be examined.
