I hope that the dumb SOB's who voted for Trump, and wanted to visit Cuba via their own boats, are proud of themselves. Yeah, he says they can still go there via airlines and cruise ships, but a good percentage of people go there on their own boats and yachts. With him taking away some of the people to people reasons to go there, that will stop now. Recently, there have been organized sailboat races held from Florida to Cuba, and those guys are now screwed too.

They said Trump came to Florida to announce it to repay the Cuban Americans who voted for him, and that is another thing that surprises me. I guess these Cubans do not mind screwing the other Cubans who are still over there. More of the "I got mine, screw everybody else" mentality. I know Trump thinks he got one over on Obama, but his day is coming, and , from the way the investigations are going, it is coming real soon.

The recent relaxation of restrictions was hurting non one, except a certain idiot with orange skin.

The bedrock tenet of being a Republican today. Nasty stuff.

I don't see this as a big change, most of the prior agreements will stay in place other than restrictions on individuals traveling and payments to the Cuban Military. The usual Trump bluster in the Miami auditorium with the old school Cubans that think this is a great victory. Like everything else with Trump you really need to read the details and it's not really what he claims.

Restricting "doing business with the Cuban military" is like restricting a nation from doing business with any US company that has any US military contracts.
The way I heard it - people can still travel to Cuba but they cannot stay in the large hotels that benefit the military. They can stay in local bed and breakfasts, etc. The travel must be with a group and for educational purposes.

Also - see below.

No surprise there.
Interesting.

Oh, well then; why was it again you didn't get involved as an ally of the UK in the Falklands fracas when Cuban troops were there assisting the Arrgies? That should say it all.

Citing an alliance of one nation to another is fruitless to these discussions involving Trump. With no ambition to build either a hotel or golf course there, he doesn't even know where North Korea is on a map.

None of his executive could tell you who Cuba is allied with nor could they shive-a-git. It's all about Obama and undoing anything he's ever touched.
