I am not sure how accurate that organization is, but thanks for the link. I will look into it further, as it seems an interesting concept. Then again list FOX News as hard right seems biased, since their news division seems pretty fair to me.
I think the debates proved their news people were just as tough on (R's) as they were on (D's).
No doubt that racist people were members of both parties; however, can you point to a GOP elected official that tried to physically block black students from entering a school or anything close to that?
As the Democrat governor of Alabama, George Wallace did this in the 60's. George Wallace was the Democrat governor of Alabama nearly 20 years later in the 80's.
These southern Democrats were called Dixiecrats. This name dates back to the 1948 presidential election when Strom Thurmand and other southern Democrat governors worried about their place in the party. Now while these "states rights Democrats" were not prevalent, George Wallace and his 1968 campaign as the American Independent Party candidate did take this but threw in anti-segregation philosophy (which by that point did go north to Detroit and Chicago with various riots) did go somewhat north.

Wallace may have won the democratic nomination in 1972. The popular vote actually went to Humphrey 4.1 mil to McGoverns 4.0 mil. Wallace had 3.7 mil but when he was shot in mid May his campaign basically stopped. The DNC was held in July.
To imply that the Dems are still a racist party 50 years later is quite laughable but if you did a Google search you would know that History and not to be true at all.
Perhaps your mindset is still stuck in the TrumpPutin mindset that says "Make America Great Again" or Make America White Again!
Maybe you should be "asking" why did Conservatives in the Republican party became the "racists" of the former Dem Party in the 1960's after the Civil Rights legislation?

Good luck with that.
Which PARTY made it about wanting a black president instead of policy?
History Quiz: Southern Democrats, who were the racist KKK supporters before the Civil Rights movement, are now the Republican party.
What do you guys get out of misleading people with this nonsense?
Yeah there are posts about this all the time. Today's Republican Party is not the party of Lincoln. It's the party of Nixon and Reagan. It's the party of Strom Thurmond, who became Republican in 1964 because he didn't like the direction the Democratic party was going on civil rights.

I doubt that he would have won the White House though. Nixon was popular and didn't need Watergate to win. Democrats for Nixon would have been as prevalent as they were for McGovern because outside of the south Wallace was considered a racistand a bigot.
The Democrats continue to support:
1. Affirmative Action
2. Gun control
3. BLM, Black panther etc. etc. etc.
Not to mention every little bitty thing would turn into a racial problem with the Democrats.
1. Affirmative Action is done to make sure minorities are represented in certain walks of life. It's not been to be done to exclude people. Now, I'm generally more critical of it as a whole, but it's not racist.
2. How is gun control racist?
3. BLM and Black Panthers (and etc. apparently) are not actually affiliated with the Democratic party in any official capacity. While some Democrats will give BLM lip service, I wouldn't say it's part of their official platform to support these organizations, and of course, rather or not they're racist is debatable.
