This response shows how deathly afraid they are of Trump. The are terrified that Trump will continue to target them, and their sport's decline will accelerate.

How right you are....and the athletes are it's trained lions, it's slaves....who think they're gliding down the highway when, in fact, they're slip sliding away.
It's up to their private employer and their union to decide what is allowed/not allowed while they are "on the clock". I thought the GOP supports private enterprise with less government intrusion. Now we have the leader of the US government trying to intrude on private enterprise by telling the NFL leaders to fire players. And he's trying to strong arm the NFL into doing this by calling on protests against the NFL. This is government attempting to intrude into private businesses.
Trump is stating his opinion as many others have on this issue. It's the same thing when liberals cry about being offended by something and want a person fired from their job whether it be on TV or a plumber. All privately owned companies and corps. Yet the left feels it's ok to strong arm those companies with threats and boycotts.
