I don't give a F if the plan presented is a Republican or a Democratic plan, having to pay close to $3K more for health care insurance is unacceptable. Roughly 90% of the country get their insurance from the government or an employer and the average that is paid is $5k. Why in the world should anyone sign off to pay more for the benefit of the other 10%? That's the same BS thought process that got us Obamacare. Focus on the ones it helps and throw the ones it hurts under a bus and pretend they don't exist. Sorry, no.

Single payer doesn't need to worry about profit or shareholders so it's inherently cheaper.

"in my view, many favor it but do not understand it. I think if they really knew exactly what it means you would see those polls change"....which is why KFF asked the questions is several formats...like referring to "single payer" or "medicare for all"....basically the same tconcept, but with different poll results. Much like those polled who are opposed to "Obamacare", but view the Affordable Care Act favorably...it boils down to understanding the subject.

The KFF is a well regarded source for healthcare information and data.

I don't care how many ways they reword what it's called, until they can quantify a dollar amount and specifically what the cost entails, these polls are worthless.

Please explain to me any program that is ran by any government that cannot be done cheaper and better in the private sector.
Anyhow, they can do what ever they want as long as it is optional to pay for it. As long as it is mandatory, costs will just spiral upwards and quality will spiral downwards.

Usps is cheaper than FedEx and ups in every way. It would drive them out of business if they had their own aircraft fleet.

Oh, no. You can't be saying that. USPS is broke every year. So you are a postal worker?

When it's optional is when prices rise. That's the basic premise of insurance.

No. I'm just proving a point. Usps takes in no tax dollars and doesn't need to make a profit which makes it superior to ups and FedEx. USPS has to prefund retirement for 70 years so it's doing this with a massive handicap.

They HAD their own aircraft fleet. Which they lost due to incompetence and inability to pay their bills.
USPS is constantly on the verge of Bankruptcy. They have HUGE massive debt and only survive from the 10's of billions of dollars in bailouts they receive every year.

No, they lost it because they were in danger of putting other shippers out of business so they lobbied congress to kill off their fleet.

Ah, the Post Office, a shining beacon of business efficiency. As a rule of thumb, public union means a poorly run enterprise.

The United States Postal Service's financial troubles have been well publicized in recent years. The worst of it came in 2012, when the USPS lost a whopping $15.9 billion dollars, followed by $4.8 billion and $5.3 billion in 2013 and 2014, respectively.
DREW JOHNSON: Postal service lies cost taxpayers billions - Washington Times

Quote:
According to the Tax Foundation, USPS has lost $51.7 billion since 2007 alone. And as my colleague David Williams, president of the Taxpayers Protection Alliance, lamented a year ago, all of the USPS‘ new ventures are merely deflections that amount to “re-arranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.”
Attn Taxpayers: Post Office Workers Paid for Doing Nothing | Fox Business

Quote:
Even though the U.S. Post Office has lost more than $50 billion in the last nine years, an odd deal cut between the U.S. Postal Service and its government union has resulted in millions of tax dollars spent on post office workers who get paid for doing nothing.
