BTW: the Hamptons has a large Hispanic population. East Hampton Town is almost 30% Hispanic. Southampton Town and Riverhead Town are each about 20% each. I've spent an extensive amount of time on the East End, my family has a vacation home in Napeague. Trust me, the East End is more than just the "citidiots" and their big mansions. Montauk in particular was a middle class vacation destination and working class fishing village until fairly recently.
Ha! My second home is in The Hamptons. I have lived there all summer, every summer for the last 18 years. The Hispanic population are the workers. And most of them live to the west in Riverhead and travel every day to landscape and clean houses. When I go to restaurants and parties, they are not the customers and guests. Plus, the last few years and especially this year, they seem to be disappearing. I recently read an article in the local papers that services are having a hard time finding workers this year.

so you are spending your kids inheritance while those immigrants are saving for their kids future. just a matter of priorities
My children's trust has enough real estate in it that their grandchildren should be fine. The trust also has 2 very large whole life policies on my wife and I, as well as smaller ones on themselves that they can always draw cash value on. So please don't worry about my kids inheritance.

Not surprising. There is strong drive to succeed among immigrants.

Same with The Hamptons and Palm Beach. There are people from other countries who own vacation homes, but not many immigrants. Just a bunch of white people with no foreign accents.
When many immigrants go on vacation, they want to go back home or somewhere outside of the U.S. The Hamptons and Palm Beach aren't that serious when you are used to beaches so clear that you can see your feet. Many immigrants want to spend time with their families, enjoy certain festivals and foods, etc.

In my circles, the most recent vacations spots have been Barbados, Indonesia (Bali), Thailand, England, France, Morocco, Belize, Trinidad, BVI, Greece, Egypt etc. We're all immigrants or children of immigrants. We generally don't vacation in the U.S.

Many immigrant families have higher incomes than white Anericans
And?

Are all non-whites supposed to have lower incomes than whites?

That's why I didn't get the point about there not being immigrants in the Hamptons, Aspen, etc. My friends and I like to leave the country with our precious PTO dates. I was just making fun of one of my friends the other day for saying "I only ski in the French Alps."

I go to other countries as well, but in between, I don't sit around in my primary home. There is a reason America has pockets of wealthy vacation spots. They are some of the most beautiful places in the country, and you can pop in and out on weekends. You are not going to go to Bali for the weekend.

I don't like this kind of vacations. I prefer to buy expensive collectibles. It's fun and the money is not going away.

That's nice but your comment about not seeing immigrants in Aspen or the Hamptons really seemed strange. People have vacation preferences. It doesn't have to be Bali. One can easily skip over to a Caribbean island for a long weekend if you live on the East Coast, for example. My friends would rather than than Aspen.

Skiing is pretty much a white mans hobby. I have been to pretty much all CO ski resorts, and hear all kinds of European accents, probably tourists. They don't go to Aspen because its farther, overpriced, and the skiing is better at many other resorts.
