Great post. And the rich white men behind the alt-right media are trying to KEEP them down by brainwashing them into thinking that education is a bad thing. And many of them believe it -as you see them posting here with anti-college rhetoric. And the conservative politicians have busted the unions, which got rid of the high paying blue collar jobs with pensions and nice paychecks, yet the same conservative politicians get voted into office even though they don't look out for the best interests of the middle class workers. Else the unions wouldn't have been busted.
This is why I abhor the left vs right crap. The liberal vs. conservative spiel too. This is about economics. The scapegoat is race. I don't see why any rational thinking person can't see it. 🤑

His words the government before individual rights. . anti police,calling his grandmother who raised him,Obama described her as a racist,then said she was a typical white person .
I wish we'd ignore all of this "left" versus "right" stuff. Trump isn't a true conservative or liberal...he's just Trump. He won't denounce white supremacists and is probably more comfortable in a room full of Eastern-bloc ex-KGB spies than regular 'Mericans.
White men (that aren't powerful or wealthy) feel emasculated and blame political correctness, affirmative action, blacks, gays, women, Latinos etc., for their struggles. That they're struggling, isn't really a question. White men are hurting. Unfortunately, like an old song stuck on repeat, they're focused on the wrong target. Rich/powerful white men keep working class white men under their thumb.
The 'us vs. them' rhetoric is a powerful drug. Women, LGBTQ and people of color want something approaching equality but to some white men, they've been convinced that it's a zero-sum game. For others to have a level playing field means that I, Joe White Guy, must sacrifice and give something up. There's cognitive dissonance where everyone can see the systemic advantage of being white and male except the very group that benefits.
The white nationalists types have to pull themselves up by their bootstraps and stop blaming non-whites and women for their problems. They need to focus on the rich white men, the policymakers and businessmen that ship their jobs offshore and help contribute to their misery. I think the white nationalists are afraid to confront their true enemy and so they focus on everything except the devil staring at them in the window.

All these losers who cry about oppression blame the minorities of this country, as if any minority (black, gay, etc.), has enough power and influence to systematically oppress them.
Meanwhile, the wealthy white people laugh at the morons and their misguided hate.
And like I stated earlier, the POTUS, VP, Congress, SCOTUS and executives/board of directors who are the major decision makers in this country aren't minorities. It's white men.

It is a new word, and to me it means all the conservatives who have concluded that the Republican Party isn't conserving anything but the net worth of its wealthy donors. An alternative is needed. Hence the "alt".

The issue is, whether or not you like Unite the Right rally, whether or not you think they are "nazis", whether or not you think every last person on the right is a nazi, as some dumbasses on here think, is that First Amendment Rights were violated today.
That group, whether you like them or not, had the right to assemble there. They had their permit. At 8pm last night a final ruling was passed and they were allowed to continue their assembly there.
As they tried to get started, the cops would not let them get started, and then a Captain came out and told them that it was an "unlawful" assembly despite the fact that they had their permit to assemble there.
That is the point of the conversation that you quoted. You can discuss that, or you can go talk to a wall about your definition of terrorism and cars, because MY biggest issue with today is violation of our fricken RIGHTS!
