Officer pulls gun on motorcycle rider during traffic stop | Daily Mail Online

Question to city data forum members, why is it that a cops first reaction is to pull a gun and do cops not own a taser? The fact that people like this lunatic want military grade weaponry should certainly make many nervous but does it? We've already seen all the excuses every time a cop shoots someone, if you got pulled over by this guy would you think he's a cop and if you had a weapon on you wohdt you have pulled it?

Officer is already on leave. So glad there is video. It looks like an armed robbery at first.

That was smart of the motorcycle driver to have a helmet cam.

I'm glad the officer is on leave. He does not seem like someone who should be entrusted with this job.

However, I don't think it is fair to say that it is always a cop's first reaction to draw a weapon. Most of the time, it is not.

Perhaps Not just seems like cops have itchy trigger fingers

He should be fired and never allowed to work in law enforcement ever again.

As Sheriff Urquhart said, he doesn't like what he's seen so far, but he hasn't heard the other side of the story.

I'm always skeptical of these kinds of videos because they usually start well into the dispute, which really doesn't tell the whole story. In this video, the police officer and motorcycle driver were already into a heated argument with the officer displaying his weapon. I wonder what happened before the video started? It may have further backed up the motorcycle driver's story, but without that, there's some crucial evidence being left out.

Officer acted like an jackass and approaching someone like that with a weapon drawn in plain cloths is asking to get shot in many areas of the country.

No reason what so ever to remove a wallet out of a drivers pants if they aren't under arrest.

No reason to act like he did in the video.

I'm curious how many other people he's done this to over his 19 years of service.
