I think more guns, in more people’s hands, equals more gun violence. Of course there are those that think more guns, in more people’s hands, means less gun violence. An interesting theory.
Since the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre, the U.S. has seen 1,518 acts of gun violence in which at least four people were wounded or killed
If that citizen did not have a gun and challenged the TX church shooter would the deaths have been greater? One check mark for more guns. And guns in the hands of the wrong people is a strike against guns, like the TX and Vegas shooters for instance. Still can't answer the question.
Evil people are the problem not the tool they use to kill. But keep at that, it's entertaining.
We can't change human nature but we can control people's ability to amply their destructive nature. Its the reason why you can't easily obtain explosives or why you don't have access to nuclear weapons. This line of thinking needs to extend to a portion of firearms on the market. The Texas shooter wouldn't have been able to kill 27 people with a bolt action rifle with a 5 round clip.
I take it you don't own any drills or screw drivers or chain saws. All tools someone can kill you with, many in mass murders. But the scary guns!!!!
When was the last time somebody killed 27 people with a screw driver or chainsaw? Guns are scary because they are designed and intended for killing and maiming and they are highly effective at it.
