If a guy cut in front of you in line at the grocery and he was visibly armed would you call him out? Knowing he could draw on you and kill you right there in the grocery store. Probably not. Why would anyone who is sane and intelligent want to live in a society where a simple confrontation could turn deadly at any minute. An armed society isn't a polite society, its a society oozing with fear of violence. Where the biggest psychopaths do as they wish because everyone else doesn't want to risk dying for speaking up.
completely disagree, the guy you are talking about getting triggered for being called out for cutting line also has to consider all the others visibly armed around him that he wont make it out alive if he tries anything stupid--if everyone is armed, everyone will think hard about how to not make yourself a target...proper checks and balances are all around, thus no one will be stupid enough to try anything out of line; the pun is a bonus
You obviously missed the entire premise of the book. He wrote about the dangers of an authoritarian government, which is how the current occupant of the White House would like to rule if he is able.
There is absolutely nothing conservative in the writings of George Orwell. You know not of what you speak, but your posts on the topic are good for a laugh.
I think the key word is authoritarian. Any system of government can be corrupted, when a single group or individual becomes too powerful. There are examples of socialism gone badly wrong, but there are just as many ugly examples of unregulated capitalism, or feudalism, or any other "ism."
No single ideology owns the theme of how power can be abused. It's universal.
Sure, just like stabbings, knives are a huge problem, drunk drivers who kill others, the cars they drive are also a huge problem, or the guy who killed 8 people in New York City recently, it's the truck's fault.

Do you believe gun owners are the most considerate and amiable people on the globe?
Yes must believe that or gun ranges would have the county coroner out in the parking lot 24/7.
Everyone at the gun range is armed, yet any kind of shooting is exceptionally rare.
Why aren't people shooting each other at gun ranges every time a person is inconsiderate?

Socialist countries grant less personal freedoms; therefore, their governments are more authoritarian.
There have been many stories about spree killers and terrorist trying to make bombs. They rarely ever work because its very hard to get a hold of bomb making materials. Criminals can only use what they have access too.
Ummm...since when is it tough to get hold of things to make bombs? In the most simplistic terms it's as easy as a trip to the gas station. Real explosives are quite easy to obtain illegally as well.C4, TNT, RDX, Comp A and B, along with det cord and firing devices are all out there. The last big theft that happened before I left my employment with the Army that went missing from that depot was 50punds of C4 and 400+ feet of det cord. Enough to make a very big boom. The only reason that explosives are not used more is that they are bulky and difficult to get into places unseen.
Availability however is not a problem. All it takes is money. And the supply of guns will never dry upfor criminals. The biggest source of illegal guns is not civilian sources. Either from theft or gun stores/shows. It's the US government itself. So long as we have standing armies, there is a huge source of guns and ammunition.
Wait, which system doesn't allow questions to be asked?
you really don't know much about socialism do you? In the first place there are no purely socialist countries they are almost always a mix of socialism and communism or socialism and capitalism. Some examples of the latter are Scandinavian countries which have extensive social programs providing for healthcare, education and retirement but they are capitalist in that their economy is based on private capital and private ownership of the means of production.
I'm pretty sure it's ok to ask questions in those countries
The purpose of these argument is not to curb crime but find a reason to take your guns so they can then take your government
