No, it's a response to the existing "whataboutism" claims that are all over this thread (and the POC forum). If accusations and settlements prove guilt for Bill Clinton, then surely they must for Donald Trump as well? But the Trump supporters will never admit that - regardless of whether or not you are one of them.

No they didn't.

He won't go anywhere until the governor has a person ready and vetted. That governor is a D. No R advantage at all.

You seriously think that Franken's senatorial accusers didn't have this worked out beforehand?

The saddest part of almost admitting it was to Quote Sen. Wellstone

He'll have a reoccurring role on the liberal road show

Yeah, OK. No one sane believes your fake superiority over Franken.
He called them all liars; said they were too ugly to grope and promised to sue them ALL after the election.

Which, of course, he was never going to do.

[quote=RedZin;50336548]I liked his speech. I hate he resigned, but I suspect we'll hear about Kristen Gillenbrand trying to run for POTUS next......

Yeah Yeah, you are entitled to your opinion. Great speech that he READ from a PAPER?

If it truly is from the heart why not just look the congress IN THE EYE and say your peace?

It's a huge advantage to the GOP.
  • Franken's Senate Senority is gone.
  • His seat now becomes completely open in 2018 instead of 2020.
  • Democrat Party loses one of it's most notewothy leaders.
  • Franken's hopes of being the 2020 DEM nominee for President are gone. Another true progressive goes up in smoke.

Lol, keep dreaming. You should probably be worrying about the midterm elections next year, especially if Moore gets in there. Talk about sending a powerful message.

Default Bothered by hysteria/hypocrisy with attacks on Franken

I'll start by saying that I'm a liberal Democrat, but I'm disturbed by this sudden mania about hugely broad sexual "inappropriateness" that seems to make no distinction between a casual grab and serious assault, or between an adult and a child. And I'm just as disturbed about the accusations toward the elderly President George H. W. Bush as I am toward Al Franken.

But what triggered this post was a Stephen Colbert comment. The two were chummy when Franken was interviewed previously, naturally, but Colbert was now speaking about Franken disdainfully, that Franken had forced a kiss on a presumably grown woman, and made a remark, presumably jokingly, something like "It's my right as an entertainer."

Now, here's the thing. Anyone who watches late-night talk shows knows that when female guests are introduced, they enter and are routinely kissed by the host. And I'm sure some of them would just as soon not be kissed. So to me this is a great example of how this is spinning crazily out of control.

I feel like some of these guys, yes, are scum. But there are example like Bush and Franken where this seems heading very badly down the wrong path.
