There is no future worth living without freedom and individual rights. We would be better off extinct. So the key to climate change is not to try and stop it but simply to adjust to it until the fossil fuels run out organically. We are smart enough to adjust to it, rebuild cities farther inland, build better structures that can withstand storms, leave low lying islands and relocate, etc.
However, any scheme that involves stealing private property for redistribution to the third world? That's OUT.That's why the Paris Accords are a non-starter.
Carbon dioxide absorbs infrared radiation because it’s part of a vast liberal conspiracy to redistribute wealth from good, hard working white people to lazy black people.
Down with the radiative properties of carbon dioxide!
"Fortunately, millennials understand the severity of the climate change issue better than other generations. A study by Statista in March 2014, looked at the different attitudes on climate change between four generations. The survey split participants up into millennials (18-36), GenX (37-48), Baby Boomers (49-67) and Matures (68+). When asked if they believed that climate change was real and that humans were to blame for most of it, 50 percent of millennials answered yes, whereas only 37 percent of Matures agreed. Baby Boomers and Gen Xers were more neutral, answering 43 percent and 47 percent respectfully.
These numbers do not come as a shock. Historically, younger generations have always been more active about the environment and social movements. Younger generations like millennials today consistently champion the issues that will effect them in the years to come, just like their parents did on civil rights and gender equality. Today, that means young people are more likely to be active in climate politics."
While it's unsettling that not more people understand that climate change is the biggest problem we are facing, I'm optimistic that with more matures and Baby Boomers retiring/dying off, and more of the younger generation and liberals running for office to take a stand and make a difference, we can tackle this problem.
Wrong. As millennials get older, and get tired of redistribution schemes and other liberal tyranny, their politics evolve, and they become their parents. It's natural and immutable.

Perhaps you have not read the Paris Accord.
Quote:
1. In order to achieve the long-term temperature goal set out in Article 2,
Parties aim to reach global peaking of greenhouse gas emissions as soon as
possible, recognizing that peaking will take longer for developing country Parties,
and to undertake rapid reductions thereafter in accordance with best available
science, so as to achieve a balance between anthropogenic emissions by sources
and removals by sinks of greenhouse gases in the second half of this century, on the basis of equity, and in the context of sustainable development and efforts to eradicate poverty.
[red emphasis mine]
2. Each Party shall prepare, communicate and maintain successive nationally determined contributions that it intends to achieve. Parties shall pursue domestic
mitigation measures, with the aim of achieving the objectives of such
contributions.
3. Each Party's successive nationally determined contribution will represent a progression beyond the Party's then current nationally determined contribution and reflect its highest possible ambition, reflecting its common but differentiated
responsibilities and respective capabilities, in the light of different national
circumstances.
4. Developed country Parties should continue taking the lead by undertaking
economy-wide absolute emission reduction targets. Developing country Parties
should continue enhancing their mitigation efforts, and are encouraged to move
over time towards economy-wide emission reduction or limitation targets in the
light of different national circumstances.
5. Support shall be provided to developing country Parties for the implementation of this Article, in accordance with Articles 9, 10 and 11, recognizing that enhanced support for developing country Parties will allow for higher ambition in their actions.
The stuff in red is the fun part where there is a massive redistribution of wealth from those according to their ability, to those according to their need.
I say screw that. If the agreement was for each country to simply do the best they can to reduce emissions, that would be one thing. But most of the Paris Accord is an international welfare treaty designed to soak productive countries for the unearned and undeserved benefit of the "developing" countries.
So Trump was correct in giving the progressive world the finger, as it were.
Here is my message to the "developing" countries. Establish Constitutions similar to ours that define and protect individual rights. Get rid of all ties to religion and parochial culture. Respect freedom. Introduce Capitalism, the economic system of freedom recently discovered by China, of all countries. Do that, and development will follow on its own.
It must really bum you out that facts have a liberal bias.
Fact like what?
